ALRB❤ I’m a 3D animation student and honestly it would be the dream hahaha. I really want to cross off working on a horror movie off of my bucket list.
I like to note that throughout all the videos James created, he kept everything he bought for the videos previously and just kept them there for the future videos, showing what he already covered. Like the Jigsaw doll ‘Billy’ from the Jigsaw series. Then the baby mask from “Happy death day.” And then “The thing” poster. Also the ghostface mask, and many more items.

Doesn't take too much brainpower to realize this was made for Jamie Lee Curtis to look badass, and it all was poorly written. It should take more than a few sneak attacks and plot armor to beat Myers, considering what he survived in H2. The fight at 15:04 looks dumb, and the whole car scene looks stupid and convenient (Jamie had the crazy luck of both surviving the car rolling and that Michael ended up smashed between a branch and the car). I like Laurie Strode desperately trying to finish him off and the decapitation scene, but the way they got there is wack.
The series ended in Halloween 2. Myers died, Loomis died. The rest are just fever dreams and nightmares.

The movie was planned to acknowledge 4-6, but they decided to instead retcon them. Even though they kept the car crash, the fact is in the H20-Ressurection timeline, Michael hasn't been heard from for 20 years. That doesn't work if H4-H6 were still canon.

I love how James pointed out the 3 masks in the film, yet missed out the Mask in the opening which is apparently the mask from H6.
Truly, the most unbelievable part of this movie (a movie I absolutely adore) is the fact that Will doesn’t smell the cigarette Sarah is smoking when he pops in on the girls with safety instructions.
He probably didn't care that she was smoking
I loved how by the end this one really portrayed Laurie as a fed up woman ready to fight. She locked herself in the school, grabbed an axe, and called dude by his government name. Lol. She was sick of his crap. I hated that in part 2 of Zombies Halloween, Laurie was portrayed as an unlikable, whiney brat. There was no fight in her.
Also, This one and Halloween 4 are the scariest ones in terms of the kills and they both have the BEST openings. The first 2 Halloween films were beautifully creepy with the use of shadows and, large houses, and hospitals.
That final act was basically "The Revenge of Laurie Strode" because Michael got his ass kicked the entire time but I loved every minute of it. I agree about RZ Halloween II though because he completely ruined the characters of Laurie and Dr. Loomis because Laurie was unlikable and whiny while Loomis was a douchebag obsessed with becoming famous off Michael and the murders.

oof bagsak If you haven’t seen this, you should, makes the Rob Zombie movies way better, from cutting the backstory, fixing the tone, to stuff like the colors and the soundtrack, it even combines both movies. It is terrific.

The knit that you pick around 10:30 is pretty easily explained by, of all things, a scene from Last Action Hero (1993) where the kid is trapped in an action movie. He take a character played by Arnold Schwarzenegger to a video store to prove that he is identical to the actor only to see a standee of Terminator 2 starring ... Sylvester Stallone. Or to make a long story short, H2O is in an alternate universe where that scene in the first Scream movie would have featured Jamie Kennedy watching some other slasher flick.

As for the Scream 2 clip referenced, I have a head cannon/ultra meta explanation. Considering the film within the film aspect of Scream 2 and how Hollywood often jumps at the chance to make a movie "based on a true story", it's not out of the realm of possibility that some producer in this continuity made a "Halloween" film based on the real life events of Haddonfield, 1978.

It's so goddamn satisfying to see Laurie being smart actually taking down Michael. Well, partly taking him down.
Michael's mask (even the non-CGI one) looks all wrong in this movie because you can clearly see his eyes. But it kind of pays off at the end when you can actually see *fear* in his eyes and it looks like the movie is trying to make you have some sympathy for him before he dies.
And then comes the chop, and it is freaking *glorious*.

I'm surprised Laurie's quote at 13:31 was glossed over. It was a direct reference to Laurie's quote in the original Halloween after she discovers the bodies and is being chased by Michael. She gets Tommy to open up the door and tells him to go upstairs. He's tired and questioning her so she yells this line at him.
Guess not all the references to the original movie had to be spelt out since there were so many, especially in this part of the Kill Count because the narration going into a black lives matter joke might have been ruined. Still, that line in the original always stuck with me, because there was desperation in the delivery that made it feel and real (in a movie where a lot of the acting didn't). Still, good Kill Count as usual.
