Meredith MacRae was my first true TV crush as a young teenager. I used to hang on every scene that she appeared in when she was on Petticoat Junction. Of course, Edgar Buchanan always made me laugh. He was a hoot. Yes, Meredith was all that.
Paul Lynde: "[I play] a father (crowd laughs hysterically)...I know it's hard to believe." Steve Allen (embarrassed): "We all have to go sometime...Well, Paul, If you'll whisper your secret..uhh, to ME..." 'Thought I was going to die laughing!!!
I know, it’s obvious that they were friends. And Richard did a lot of of impressions of Paul Lynde on Match Game and Family Feud. Both were the main reasons to watch M.G and H.S.
This show was syndicated in 1972, but lasted for about one season, but I'm not sure. It was hosted by Steve Allen. The opening music was "This Could Be the Start of Something Big" which was also done by Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme. It was not that bad than the original with Gary Moore.
Marshal Tenner Winter --- 'Seems so obvious now but, I swear, that back in the day, it never even occurred to me that Paul Lynde was gay. Maybe it was because I was young. I don't know. There were plenty of other gay stars, back then...but, I didn't know THEY were gay either. ...Except for Rip Taylor. With Rip Taylor, it wasn't just "obvious" that he was gay. It was "bleeding obvious". If Rip Taylor had been any "gayer", he would've started flapping his wrists, and flown up into the rafters. What must be said is that the two were, both, great performers, and funny as hell! I haven't seen the likes of them since.
If everyone knew, why didn’t People magazine mention it when it ran a cover story on Paul Lynde? Clearly the magazine’s staff believed a lot of people did not and should not know.
I always thought Paul Lynde and actress Alice Ghostley should have been cast as siblings on a sit come. she looked like him, behaved like him, and had a voice like his. i think they would have been a fab comedy team. wow....i just looked up Alice Ghostley and found a clip called "YES - Alice Ghostley IS Paul Lynde" ... i wasn't alone in comparing them :-D unfortunately, the movie "Rabbit Test" this clip and another one were taken from is pretty tacky.
@@RonGerstein She did bucket kick in the years since I commented on it. Anita Gillette is the only non bucket kicked regular from 1972 I've Got a Secret
Pat Carroll was laughing so hard after Paul said he played a father on his show because????? IMO, she knew his sexual preference. It was said most in show business knew but never said anything.
They didn’t believe his bedroom activity had anything to do with his Screen Actors Guild activity. You might not know very much about the entertainment business.
Thanks for uploading. This is the first episode from the Los Angeles syndicated version I've seen on TH-cam.
Another heart-melting appearance by my favorite breathtakingly beautiful blonde babe Meredith MacRae. VERY DEEP SIGH!
Capt Marvel, smart, intelligent, definitely a man who was going places. I hope he had a long successful career.
RIP Paul Lynde, Steve Allen, Meredith MacRae, Johnny Olson, Henry Morgan, and most recently Richard Dawson!!
Pat Carroll died in 2022.

Chipsey Boday: Oh, it’s no secret!

Gary Moore was not the original hot of TTTT; Bud Collyer was. Gary was the original host of I've Got A Secret.
Just FYI Steve Allen was the composer of the theme song.
@@gwenniegirl50 And Steve Lawrence & Eydie Gorme sang it.
@@Musicradio77Network Steve Allen also sang this song.
Wonder where Capt Marvel is now?? He sounded so likeable and intelligent and by this time he should be a general!!!
The Captain Marvel secret was funny.
I didn't peak at the answer and tried to guess along, but I didn't think of it being so simple.
Paul Lynde was so funny and talented. Really sad he died so young. Anyone know the story of him?
15:50 "Hi Paul......"
Henry Morgon rubs me the wrong way.......
Paul Lynde does not have secret.
Well, he fooled me for years.
Being alcoholic for years how could he hid it?
+Michael Bowie I was referring to the gayness.
He seemed to be happy he lost the weight but no kind of secret.
Actually, Pat Carroll is still living!! :)
Among other things, she voiced Ursula in "The Little Mermaid".
Pat (b. 1927) is alive as of June 2020.
SHE DIED IN 2022.
Oh yeah, we all knew Paul Lynde had a secret!

Did him hiding his gay secret result in his death? Wasnt it suicide?
Everyone knew it seems...but it was still to be "out" in Hollywood.

Seven celebs if you count Johnny Olson.
Pat Carroll is the only living member of the six celebs.
She died in 2022.

What, no cigs!?
Henry Morgan is seen smoking. Richard Dawson was usually always seen smoking on this show also.
CIGS INSIDE

Paul fought obesity...a shame he didn't fight alcoholism.
Josh Lyons You are wrong about that. He stopped drinking and drugging two years before he passed away. Cause of death was a heart attack.
