For the people complaining about the Miis, the moveset is meant to be basic since they ARE Miis. The better way to look at this is, “Why couldn’t the Miis have customizable Special Shots/Dashes.”

I like how Luigi’s isn’t a copy of Mario’s with just slight differences, and I admit it was cool of them to use the original Ice Flower look, though it would have been cool to see one adapted into the golf outfit
It would’ve been even cooler if he used the poltergust to fling the ball for his special shot

I always wondered why they rather choose a generic boo instead of King Boo in most Mario Spin Off games
Boo is my favorite character but this still puzzles me, it might be so that they can use King Boo as a boss/stage hazard like he is in several games
The weird part is that King Boo shows up in Mario Kart.
@@hessxpress and in Super Sluggers, both King Boo and generic Boo are playable
For Tennis at least, Boo was in the N64 version, before King Boo existed. I'm assuming that they just keep him in the others for the sake of tradition. He was Bowser's partner in these games before Bowser Jr. was made.

In their debut game, Super Mario World, there are some Chucks who throw baseballs as an attack. I like the idea that Chucks are really into to sports but they get confused and keep mixing them up.

For those wondering, the Mii has two different Specials that you unlock through the story mode.
The first Dash you unlock is the simple run-really-fast. The second one has you do a little jump and spin.
The first Special Shot is just hit the ball really hard. The second is the same, but with fire. This is for Story purposes.
And those arguing the Mii isn't customizable, don't forget the RPG/Elder Scrolls type leveling in the story mode.

It's a very clean special shot for sure, the spinning in the air flows seamlessly into the actual stroke

They gave Toad so much personality in this game I love it

I love how wario doesn’t even do anything related to his character, he just gets electrocuted
Honestly, feels like a reference to the Wario Land games, since a lot of puzzle solving in those games involves Wario being injured and using his "new form" to get past obstacles.

The miis get a different shot/dash from story progression. The long jump in the special dash III is great for clearing gaps

Mario,luigi,wario,waluigi,princess peach,princess daisy,yoshi,bowser,bowsy,boo,donkey kong,rosalina,pauline,toad,chargin chuck,king bob omb and mii .
This game finally made golf fun in my eyes
They had so many missed opportunities, for example:
Wario - Wario man
Donkey Kong - Barrel Cannons
Rosalina - Launch Stars
Luigi - Poltergust 9000
There are probably more.
Wario-Man would not really work well because that power-up/alternate costume is a WarioWare exclusive outside of Smash Bros. Since Nintendo keeps the WarioWare series different than the Mario series, this current power-up makes some sort of sense for Wario.

If I were to make them:
1. Mario: Rapidly hit the ball with fire (and then the ball falls like meteor), Backward Long Jump
2. Luigi: Thunder from his hands affecting the club (the ball striked by thunder and then falls straight down), moves so fast in zig-zag
3. Wario: Uses exaggerated giant rocket powered club to hit the ball, Rocket on his back launch him forward (same)
4. Waluigi: Perfect
5. Peach: Blows a kiss to the ball (the ball fastly flying on its own before she even hit it), Rides a moving giant pink heart that leaves smaller hearts behind
6. Daisy: The club turned into flower stick that leave flower trails on the ground (below the flying ball), Piranha Plant bites her butt and then fastly extend its neck (Smash Down B) to desired location
7. Rosalina: 5 Lumas hold the ball when it's flying to make it travel longer, Launch Star herself obviously
8. Pauline: I can't think of but pls don't make it Jump Up Superstar
9. Donkey Kong: Spin his hand to power up, Balancing on barrel before it breaks
10. Bowser: Become giant and smack the ball with his giant club, Spinning in his spiky shell like Koopa
The others are fine even Chargin' Chuck (for wtf kind of lol)
This really does remind me of Mario Hoops 3 on 3 ngl

You can make anyone left hand or right hand in this game, just depend on the player.
If you are left hand you make Rosalina or any character as left hand and vice versa for right hand player.

I love the fact that both Wario and Yoshi's special shots are subtle references to original Mario Golf from the n64 ! (In that game if you had the red power and did a nice shot, Yoshi's trail would be a rainbow and Wario's shot would summon some lighting)
Pauline’s super shot is so peppy, probably my favorite.

This video made me realize two things:
1. I do not know how Mario Golf works
2. Nintendo characters do not understand how Real Life Golf works

Bowser and Pauline are my favourite's! Bowser because he's a Power Character and Pauline because she's a Technique Character.
Bowser's outfit gives off "eating buffalo wings and downing whiskey while watching the game in the bar" vibe
Nintendo when the miis are running can you make an update that when they run their mouths are closed completely, since when they open thier mouths, they allow unnecessary/foreign particles to be inside.
Pauline automatically has the worst one because of Jump Up Superstar

i love how they used the NSMBU Star theme where you have a baby yoshi for mario's special shot. they didn't have to but the yoshis are appreciated.
I think it would've been cool if they changed some of the special shots that multiple characters have. Like make them more personalised. For example, they could have peach's one have hearts around it and when it lands explode with hearts. And waluigi's one have tornado style effects.
Waluigi is for sure going to be my main in this game. His animations are so unnecessarily over-the-top that I can’t main anyone else other than string bean over here.
