- In this video, we're beginning final assembly on the Roadster Shop Chassis, LT4-powered '60 Apache, giving you an update on our shop OBS build, Rei, and test driving our newly-wired and fired 454SS LS9 DCT Transmission build.

Solid.
Hey Jesse... Loved the 60' update! I've got 2 OBS( Autocross), and one OBS drag truck in the shop, and have been consistently checking up on your " REI " series. I certainly can appreciate the content my friend. I have personal knowledge on BMW ( and Audi/Volkswagen type ) DCT and 8HP trans swaps.
One hint to help is that several of the DCT trans baskets without the spring hubs had extensive damage even at lower rpm. I'm just passing that on so as to stave off possible trouble my friend.
Several ( a half dozen +/- )
still are fine. ( they all now have hubs ) Enjoy your Shop's skill and quality, keep on it!
Respectfully, Seth
I'm very impressed with the work you're doing on the BMW transmission. I already know it's out of my price range, but what a setup that would be!
Man your attention to detail and wanting to step up to the next level is amazing. Wanting to learn more and innovate with new ideas is great that truck is awesome
I appreciate that!
Your attention to detail and your passion for learning is inspiring. I look forward to the content and watching your business grow. Keep it up brother.
I appreciate that! Thank you.
My OBS would be jealous to hear me say it but that 60 is incredible!! Loving the fatty tires out back, the wheel choice and wheel color choice, the drivetrain, the air suspension tub/"trunk" idea, etc etc. Great job!
Haha. I hear that. It’s been such a fun project. Can’t wait to see it completed and ripping.
Everything is looking great Jesse. Ive been trying to learn new stuff as well, such as Fusion 360. Its been such a challlenge for me. I believe that HTG is what Adam LZ is using on his one Supra as well. They had some engineer from that company in the states tuning it at his place. Pretty cool stuff!
Thanks dude! Yeah Adam had the owner of the company come in from Poland and help him.
Great video! Very interesting, informative, high tech and also quite exciting!!
Just some awesome top quality work from everyone involved which also certainly includes the quality production of the video.
Thank you!!!
Thanks John. Glad you liked it.
Man Jesse loving this 1960 for sure and everything about it...but because I have an obs I am super excited about your truck and the other obs stuff you do....thanks for the great channel and content.
Thanks for watching!
You guys are definitely building some of the best stuff I've ever seen I absolutely love it
Gorgeous truck! Always love seeing your work and how detailed you guys get. Someday I’ll visit the shop with my old rig (GrandpaSquared).
Love Ray, love trucks👊🙋👍
Im loving it all gents, especially the tech stuff. Very cool. Now you got me over here looking up BMW DTC stuff and how i can get thst in my truck🤣🤑👍
Right on!
Looks awesome guys. That's some real progress on clays truck trans. Might have to get one for mine one day.
Love your work
Thank you!
Awesome video my friend!
Thanks brother!
instead of buying the Holley waterpump, you can also just get a 2010-2015 Camaro SS waterpump... Truck pulley spacing.
Good to know. Thank you!
Time to make a bracket for truck coils to fit under those coil covers... it would be cheaper for guys trying to keep a budget under control?
No power rack and pinion for Ray???
No way. Fast ratio gearbox for me!
@@level7motorsports I was running a AGR 14:1 power steering box in my OBS and it drove like a truck with only 4-5 degrees of caster. Under hard braking it was a fight with wheel and forget about using the brakes in a parking lot.
I switch over to Flaming Rivers rack and pinion bolt in kit. Now I have 7-8 degrees of caster in the truck and can turn the wheel effortly under hard braking and low speed while braking. All my suspension components are Ridtech and proforge.
PS I'm not trying to talk into anything, just letting know about my experience
Well I hate to say it but AGR probably gave you a stock box. They are a horrible company. We will be using a much faster box from Turn One. The rack kits for these trucks most always ruin the steering geometry, are rarely faster, and are not as heavy duty.
@@level7motorsports ARG was about the only steering box company going back when I built the truck. I know was not stock box, I had stock box. The truck lost a lot of steering radius and was a lot harder to turn.
Ridtech was the only company that offered a complete suspension kit for OBS's. Q A 1 only offered upper and lower A arms for OBS's.
@@level7motorsports The Flaming Rivers rack and pinion bolt in kit puts the tie rods right back in the factory position, the stock tie rods are reused. On the aliment rack the steering wheel needed recenter and toe was spot on from factory drag link.
I'm just trying to sharing a little info. But hey you do you!!!
Sometimes I feel like I'm a bright yellow dipstick.
lol. You are the Cerakote over old spray paint my friend. The miracle salve!
You’d be much better off throwing all the HTG in the trash, you will get it working and it will crash/brick. They are a nightmare
Not had a single issue with this one.
Music is wayyy to loud boys.
Noted thanks.
Love the content lots of information and I've been waiting to see what that BMW trans does!!!
