PATHFINDER STRONG | WE BRAVED THE STORM | INTERNATIONAL PATHFINDER CAMPOREE 2024 | GILLETTE WY

Today has been the most amazing day so far! My friends are here and now we are done getting the campsite ready. It’s time to go out and start collecting pins. Mom purchased some Michigan pins so I could have “some” trading power. She walked around with me and my friends all day and helped us learn how to trade. I think we are pros now! Lol THIS IS EPIC!!!!
We are starting to get some honors, collect pins, meet new people, see old friends, and just have a great time. It’s unfortunate that a terrible storm had to come and ruin everything. We were watching the pathfinder drill when they stopped the show and told us we needed to seek cover. The pavilions with all of the vending and honors were all closed early, and the program for the evening was cancelled.
The property is so massive, we were at a far end of the property so it took forever to get back. We thought we would get caught in the storm but we believed we he promise and made it to cover in the nick of time.
Today, we met some amazingly generous people and want to say THANK YOU! You made this camp so much better. Up until today we had been yelled at and fussed at by people we didn’t even know. A few tips, if you are ever lost in the middle of the night, do not EVER try to take a short cut when you are exhausted and trying to get back to your campsite. The amount of “Christian pathfinders” who went out of their way to come out and yell at us was ridiculous! No one tried to help, they just went off. Anyhow, the good people WILL outweigh the bad, I’m determined to stay positive through it all.
