The heroes have something called plot armor, meaning that the hero or main character has to survive even the most dangerous situations in order for the plot or series to continue.
It was a pretty typical sort of line you'd hear in all the old Bond movies... and Saturday morning cartoons for that matter. It was cliche by the time this movie came out.
What's so funny is that Will Farrell's character is so hopeful someone will save him like as if Dr. Evil can't hear him, and it's like dude hes the one that sent you down there in the first place 🤣

I found Vasquez Rocks in California which was used as the set for Dr. Evil's lair in the first film. That location was used for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as well as Star Trek.

He tired to hold on to the table at the last minute but it was far too slippery for a good grip.. Mustafa also made that part of the design so no one could use the table to prevent them from going over..
You know all these years later I think I might have enjoyed this dr evil characterization as Blofeld in a Bond film. The Christoph Waltz one didn't exactly thrill me, but it was okay.
