This was so perfectly detailed. A lot of times, I watch similar videos and they leave out the gear, the light placement or something else, but you hit every mark. Super helpful and informative. Thank you!
Great looking image man. Skin tones look fantastic, nice detail in the beard, some detail through the window but not so much that it’s distracting. Really came out well. Thanks for the breakdown.
This was refreshing. Nice to see bts breakdowns of practical pro gigs overcoming real life hurdles. This type of videos could be one of your niches. More of this in different scenarios. I'd like to see more how you deal with roomy commercial spaces with various background noises. Link to finished video would be nice
Great feedback! Glad to hear it was helpful. I'd love to do more videos like this, I've done a ton of unique setups over the past year or so! Just added the link to the final film if you want to check it out!
This was super interesting, really useful breakdown. I'd love to see how this gear packs down for the road. What sorts of bags/cases do you use? Also, do you use any sort of cart for all this gear?
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful. I definitely could do a whole video about traveling with everything. I use the Thinktank Logistics Manager 30 for my main bag. For this shoot I was able to drive so that makes it easier. I do have a wagon I got from a sporting goods store to help carry stuff!
Great breakdown. I thought for sure you had a bounce as fill, but I guess you wouldn't have had the exposure life on the bookcase. How did you like the cine-prime vs the standard canon lense? Been considering renting the prime for my C300iii for certain projects.
Great thoughts! I think the 200D bounce as providing some fill! I like the cinema prime. When I started using the it I can't say I noticed a HUGE jump in quality right away but I think a head to head comparison would tell more of the full story! That is a video I plan to make soon!
Hey man. Awesome video. Very informative 🔥🙌🏾 I was also wondering what software or interface your using to do the scribble? I have some similar ideas I’d like to do but can’t figure this out lol.
Thanks Justin! So I just do it in Photoshop actually. I just go full screen and make sure the image layer is locked and draw my brush on a blank layer. There are probably better ways but it works for me!
Oh man, I might make a whole video about this. Luckily for this shoot I was able to drive but it was still a logistical nightmare. If you look at the wide shot you can see my wagon I use to help carry gear for stuff like this. Flying is a whole different story.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. I do have a quick question about the two camera setup. How are you sync them? By wave form or by tentical sync? I’m trying to learn more but not many teach how they are accomplishing it. Thanks
Great question! I use a program called PluralEyes to sync the cameras and audio from the recorder. Technically I could run time-code with the C70s and my Zoom F6 but I've never had an issue with just using Plural Eyes.
did the natural light change on you? Had a bad experience with trying to use natural light from a window, light keep changing, subtle changes that I didn't notice until post production...nightmare
Yes that can be a struggle for sure! In this case we got lucky and it didn't change too drastically. Because the key light was so bright it was basically overpower the ambient light in the room regardless, so his exposure wouldn't change hardly any even with a big change in ambient light.
There is no such thing as a true 35mm. The best you can do is speak to which standard you are using. S35, 35mm, 65mm, M4/3. S35 has been the standard for cinema for decades.

Thanks so much! And thanks for watching!!
Really great breakdown!
OMG... I literally just got a request for a shoot like this and then saw your BTS in my feed lol... Thanks so much, Tyler. Super helpful! 😊
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for helpful breakdown. Footage looks great.
Thanks so much! Glad it was helpful!
Definitely would like to see more videos on the process.
Nice Breakdown!!
Appreciate it! Thanks for watching!

Great breakdown! I also noticed the text reads 200D, but I believe you said “300D.” Overall great job man 😃
This is so insightful! Do you edit in premiere pro?
Yes I do!

Tyler, what’s best iTunes app for leveling low/loud dialogue audio (typically from vid file) to even level?
Looks good!!! Great pointers. How is it traveling with all that lighting??? Any hassle with airports or baggage claim???

@@tylerherrinton sometimes the temp changes too.
Can I contact you for additional help?
