Wonyoung honestly has the BEST facial expressions. I find her fancams to be the most entertaining. Ppl still have the audacity to say she doesn’t deserve center. Look at her stage presence/facial expressions and you’ll see she earned everything she got.
When I watch Wonyoung performing, it really makes me think of when Blackpink's Lisa was a mentor on that Chinese survival show earlier this year and how she often got after the girls she was mentoring about not smiling and lacking expression while performing. I often feel like if you want to show a performer a textbook example of how to express yourself, you'd show them footage of Wonyoung and point out how much she smiles and how she uses her facial expressions to emphasize what she is doing in the choreo or lyrically. Some of that is natural talent on Wonyoung's part, but much of that is probably a lot of time alone in the practice room doing the choreo and over and over and finding where those points are where the cameraman is going to catch a big smile, or going to see a face framing hand gesture, or raised eyebrow.
