My favorite part of the speech was when he was talking about the privilege they have as journalist in The US and basically how disappointing it is that they are using it how they do.
It's so sad that people I think it's something to be proud of to be ignorant of the very issues that have power over their lives. Politics is about what power can do for the powerless. Meaning the regular people and they powerful are very happy for you to say well. I would rather remain ignorant and let them worry about it. This is why you have what you have
Not true my friend. This is idealistic. If this were actually true I would be with you. Someone can spend their whole lives learning about every issue and candidate. But the problem is all politicians are liars. They may promise one thing but rarely carry that out. What is the point? No one knows what intentions the politicians have besides that politician. Knowing about laws and how government works is important. That wasn’t what we were referring to
