Great symphony - Eshpai's masterpiece I think. This seems to be better recorded and more powerful than the very enjoyable performance on Russian Disc.

I love this symphony! There's a theme that begins at 9:14 that sounds like an old hymn tune, but probably isn't - this is the Soviet Union 1985, after all. Anyone recognize it?

Ozgoode L. It's a Nazi Marching song. Presumably supposed to represent Hitler's invasion of the USSR.
