      Since you are doing originals vs remakes may I suggest David Bowie vs Wallflowers the song Heroes. It’s a pretty big difference in tones I think you may like. Plus the lead singer of The Wallflowers is Bob Dylan’s son Jacob.
      Also with these original vs remake songs it would be interesting to see your reaction to them back to back in one video by your reaction to the differences right after I’d love to hear,

    Bowie once told a story about how he had performed this song in a concert in the late 90s, and afterward, a young fan told him how cool it was that he had covered a Nirvana song. He was not pleased.

They tend to use the names expecting you to know them. They include; Ziggy Stardust, Alladin Sane, The Thin White Duke and for some of us, The Goblin King.

    Another David Bowie cover is "All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople. David was the producer on that song, maybe the album?
    I think Mott the Hoople does a more developed version of the song.

    • @chrisf.7980
      @chrisf.7980 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bowie actually wrote "All The Young Dudes" to give to Mott because he was friends with them & they were about to breakup because their record label was dropping them due to poor record sales. They loved the song & as we know they had a huge hit with it. Bowie added it to his set list in later years during his 2003-04 Reality Tour, with the crowds turning it into a sing along. Fun to watch if you get the chance.

    Bowie was, socially, ahead of his time. Back in the early eighties he called out MTV for the lack of black artists on the channel. He had noticed that they played almost exclusively white artists. He asked in an interview why they didn’t play more videos by black artists. It changed very quickly after that.

    • @cinaedpv
      @cinaedpv 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Gerald H To be honest, this was back in the beginning. MTV started in 1980. The interview was in ‘83. There was not a lot of videos being produced then compared to later. Not every song got a video like later.
