তাদের বিয়ে এলাহাবাদে আদি ধর্মের রীতি অনুযায়ী হয়েছিল, যদিও ফিরোজ গুজরাটের একটি জরথুস্ট্রিয়ান পার্সি পরিবারের অন্তর্ভুক্ত ছিলেন । এই গান্ধী আসলে ভারতের 'Gandhi' নয়।এটি পার্সিয়ান বা পার্সি ধর্মাবলম্বীদের পদবী 'Ghandy'। কিন্তু ভারতে গান্ধীই উচ্চারণ করা হতো। ফিরোজ জাহাঙ্গীর খান গান্ধী বা সকলের কাছে ফিরোজ গান্ধী নামে পরিচিত ব্যক্তির পুর্বপুরুষরা পারস্য থেকে ভারতবর্ষে এসেছিলেন। এদের ধর্মের নাম জরাথুস্ত্রবাদ বা পারসী ধর্ম।
