      @Just a Girl Sad but true. At least Americans are waking up to how "out-of-step" most of these current celebrity loons are. Awards shows like the Grammys and Academy Awards are attracting smaller audiences every year.

    • @loissimmons6558
      @loissimmons6558 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Originally an R&B hit for The Impressions and written by Curtis Mayfield.
      Hyland also had a big hit with "Sealed With a Kiss" and considerable air play with the Bobby Russell song "The Joker Went Wild".
      Hyland was from Woodhaven in the borough of Queens, not far from where I grew up on the border of Ozone Park and Richmond Hills. He was only 16 years old on this episode of TTTT so my guess is that he didn't get a carton of Camels.

      @@loissimmons6558 ok thanks. I remember " joker went wild" now that you mention it. Also, a lot of those old R&B hits were later done again by other groups that turned into hits. For example, " Get Ready " was later released by Rare Earth in the early 70s.

    I would have voted for #3 just because of his hairstyle which was how we did it back then!
    Brian Hyland born November 12, 1943. From Wikipedia: Hyland was born in Woodhaven, Queens, New York City. He studied guitar and clarinet as a child, and sang in his church choir. When aged 14 he co-founded the harmony group the Del-Fi's, which recorded a demo but failed to secure a recording contract. Hyland was eventually signed by Kapp Records as a solo artist, issuing his debut single, "Rosemary", in late 1959. The label employed the Brill Building songwriting duo of Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance to work with Hyland on the follow-up, "Four Little Heels (The Clickety Clack Song)", which was a minor hit, and the songwriting duo continued to work with Hyland.
    In August 1960, Hyland scored his first and biggest hit single, at the age of 16, "Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini", written by Vance and Pockriss. It was a novelty song that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (No. 8 in the UK) and sold almost a million copies in the first two months of its release and over two million copies in total.

I picked #1 because #2 was too handsome and I think I've seen him in a thing or two. #3 had to look up when he stated his name, which indicates something or other. Brian was on the Saturday Beech-Nut show only a week before! They all cheated! But I'm sure they watched with their kids, I keep forgetting that Paul Vance ("Tracy" 1969, "Playground in my Mind" 1973, "Run Joey Run" 1975 amongst others) wrote the song, but since Brian didn't read sheet music, I'm sure he didn't care :)
