    I ordered this after watching your video and like you totally forgot that I had. Then this morning as I was laying in bed it suddenly popped in to my head"You ordered that little creepy asylum patient deck". I was thinking about it all through breakfast and then when the post came there was the deck. I was really wigged out so the first question I put to the deck was what kind of deck are you? and I drew the Ankh which shows the deck is full of secret knowledge and exalted powers. Guess I know who will be wearing the pants in our deck/reader relationship.

    Thank you so much Kelly. I'm late to the party and because I cannot get my head around the other Deviant Moon style decks I didnt even check this out... but wow.
    Your walkthrough is so helpful, esp when you spoke of the different meanings and that it's not just a creepy deck... So, I now have a copy on its way to me... I have had the most amazing readings with Baba Studios Mercury's Fortune deck... and while I'm still learning I seem to really struggle with standard Lenormand. Hoping this wee beauty will have the same click I had with the Fortune deck.
    Thank you again... love your walkthroughs and explanations. 🙌 ❤️

    Kelly and her cleaver are at it again. LOL I never even heard of this deck until I saw your post on Facebook earlier tonight. Part way through this video, I stopped and ordered the deck!! Looks to be a lot of fun. As always, Kelly, thanx for the walk-through. You're always so informative. This just might be the deck that I take the plunge and blacken the edges. Two thumbs up, indeed.

      LOL my cleaver worries people and this deck seems to have sucked quite a few in but it's a #sorrynotsorry for me as I think it's really a great little deck!!

    They are like charms but in a card form, great review to help how to make sense of the individual cards. It was also good to see the sample reading to see them in action! 🔮❤️🔮

    holy crap I like this deck!!!! It's got nice balance, nice art and a straight forward voice to it. Damn it I told myself I would stop buying decks. But this is a must buy. I will take a nice fortune telling deck over tarot when I really need to know the nitty gritty of a situation. Can you do a video showing the backs of the cards. Maybe there is a shadow deck on the backs.

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does not surprise me that you like this, as you said, it's actually really nicely balanced, very direct fortune telling style, gets in and does the work! Ohhh good point on the back I will do that!

    About the broom: we have a word here in Italy which is "scopare". Il literally means "to sweep the floor" (with a broom) but it's also used (in a quite vulgar way) to indicate sexual intercourse :D

    It definitely reminds me of a Lenormand/Kipper/Sibilla/Zigeuner("Gypsy") type of deck. I love Patrick Valenza's artwork. Not sure if this is one I want though. I will consider it for sure. Also, what do you think of his Marseille style deck Trionfi Della Luna? Thanks for doing this walkthrough.

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely a similar system to those, which is fun. I do think his Trionfi Della Luna is gorgeous and a little more to my liking than the Deviant Moon but I think I'll be happy with this little gem :D

    OMG! I LOVE that you opened it with a butcher knife!!! LOL! So appropriate! When I first saw it there before you picked it up, I thought it was just for ambiance. . .asylum. . .horror. . .you know. When you picked it up and started to open the box with it I nearly snorted my coffee!
    I've been looking at these cards for a while now. I don't connect with the Deviant Moon Tarot, either, but I absolutely love Patrick Valenza's aesthetic, sense of humor, and the Trionfi decks, one of which I have. I also like the new wood cut oracle -- mainly for its artwork and stunning, creepy aesthetic.
    I'm brand new to Lenormand decks and that entire system, and this feels to me like a Lenormand deck, though I may be completely mistaken. It does look like a 1940's hand-made prisoner of war deck I saw on Etsy very recently, however, which made me more curious about it. (If I were a prisoner of war, making up a deck of oracle cards would definitely be something I'd do, and my artwork would likely be pretty simple and crude, too!)
    I love your channel! I get so much out of it!

    • @SanskritBlue
      @SanskritBlue 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh -- BTW -- the "trumpet" that looks like a telescope is the kind of instrument that was used in late 19th & early 20th century seances with physical mediums. They'd put several things on the seance table for the spirits to manipulate, and blowing into a megaphone-like object would be easier to get sound from than a real trumpet. Makes the card that much creepier!

    Thank you Kelly for this review, I was looking for a "vintage looking"/ embrace the magical/ witchy/ halloween type deck, and this little deck is perfect ! I just ordered it ! It is my first non mass-market deck ! and well the most expensive of my collection ! I live in France so I paid 16$ of shipping (44 $ total... I need emotional support lol) ! But I am sure that it is worth the money ! =)

    Hi Kelly!
    I've been watching you for a little while now and I have a video request. I'd love love love for you to do a video about dark or scary decks that are still readable. I think it might fit in well with Halloween coming up. Until recently I hadn't done much tarot since about the mid 90's. Back then I had a handful of really creepy decks and there just don't seem to be as many around in stores anymore. I've unfortunately gotten rid of all my decks from back then (some of them are worth a fortune now!) but I'm thinking of things similar to the major arcana deck with artwork by H.R. Giger. Don't google that if you get scared easily. I've gotten a few really good all purpose decks recently, but I'm still on the lookout for a really dark, shadow/trauma type deck. A lot of what I'm seeing in stores and online is just too happy for the type of work I want it for. I've found that when dealing with traumatic events it can be helpful to embrace the really dark imagery as a way of moving past the trauma. Sometimes looking at things that are too pretty makes people feel worse when they're in the midst of that really dark time of life, or trying to process memories from a really dark time in life. I hope I've explained the kind of deck I'm looking for. Certainly not the smiling pumpkins and ghosts that are typical of "spooky" themed decks, although that would probably make for a good youtube video too. I figured if anyone on youtube could point me in the direction of decks I'm talking about it would be you. You seem to know about all the decks :) I just went and ordered this deck after watching this video. Keep up the good work! :)
    P.S. The vibe around this particular deck would sort of fit with what I'm looking for. I'd love to find a tarot deck though, and this one is probably right on the edge of being "dark enough" if that makes sense. Some of the old decks have imagery of medieval torture victims and things like that. That's probably more along the lines of the dark stuff I'm thinking of. I can't remember the names of many decks though. I'm hoping you can :) Thanks for reading my essay lol

    I ordered this deck immediately when Patrick released the information. I found it fascinating and even more so when I received it a few days ago. Thank you for the review!

    such a cute little deck! I love that you used a cleaver to open it, very fitting lol... but where did you find such a cute little cleaver!? I noticed on a few of the cards they made it look like blood smears and leaks or the such on them, especially near the beginning, that was a nice touch to lend to the feel of the narrative of the story behind how/where they 'found' the deck! Now it is a story right? They didn't actually find this deck in a coat in a wall?! I am very trusting and gullible, so I tend to believe things lol... The Broom, lol.. hope this isn't too crude, but a 'myth' around the flying witch is that women would rub flying ointments on the tips of their brooms and 'ride' them, hence the romantic type encounter.. could be where that's coming from.. and now I blush, lol. As soon as I saw the Trumpet I totally thought it was also an old type magnifying glass ... think Pirate Captains heehee, I love the Fetus card, that one has so much power in it. I LOVE the idea of a puzzle on the back!!! I was working with this as a concept for a women's workshop as one of the stages. I would have positive traits, affirmations, etc in invisible ink on the back, and the photo would be a picture of the women attending sent and printed in advance, they build the photo and write what they belief are truths about themselves, negative ones... and then I have them turn it over and use the black light flashlights to illuminate the truth, the positive aspects. Still working on the concept, and the workshop overall lol. Can't wait to see the addition video coming soon!! heehee xo PS Will next weekend be Saturday or Sunday for the live? So hoping Sunday! Bye for now!

    • @TheTruthinStory
      @TheTruthinStory  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aha many love my little cleaver, many are concerned I will cut myself :D I BELIEVE it was part of a little cheese set! As to the story, while it is fun to play with these kinds of stories, and it IS a story as far as I'm aware :D I definitely wouldn't want it based on truth LOL As for the broom, you know I recently read about that not looking into brooms but about flying oil... which makes sense as you could certainly absorb it fast there I suppose O.O I will try to get the expansion pack video up shortly and PSS I'm not sure, I am guessing it will be Saturday, but I think I'll start rotating Saturdays and Sundays so everyone gets an opportunity!
