I love "lakrids", but the taste varies wildly so you have to taste more than one kind before making up your mind. Some is soft and sweet, some is chewy and salty, some is hard and spicy or tastes like ammonia. I love them all, honestly. Yum.
This is so true. Danes are so in love with Licorice. The fact I don't like it is one of the first reasons I will never truly fit in, in Denmark properly. LOL. I'll never be accepted!
I'm well aware that there are danes who don't like lakrids, and I wasn't generalizing or any stupid thing like that, just saying that I personaly never met one in real life, but I've met lots of those who didn't like beer. So in my experience there are a lot more of those who don't like beer than lakrids. :) Hope we solved the missunderstanding. :)
@insrtstd I notice your comment was the only one with foul language - this surprises me since you are Chinese - part of a complex, rich and ancient culture with students that excel in all areas of knowledge and art.
@JoachimderZweite Which part is the stereotype - complex, rich and ancient culture - or students that excel in all areas of knowledge and art - both of these statements are true not assumptions.
Why does every one Think all we danes Like Liquorice? I dont Like it.. A little but CHOCOLATE! Do you feel the magic with CHOCOLATE and "Liquorice " BWADR!
Don't think like that. As a foreigner you're forgiven if you don't like lakrids, beer or any other drink or food. You will be accepted if you're just a nice person wanting to integrate and accept the culture and traditions.
There a lot very tasty liquorice/lakrids but also a lot of some awfull stuff they call liquorice/lakrids which they never should have been alloved to call it....
