this video is pretty awesome, a profesional touring bass player using just the helix for the job.

When I was touring with The Miracles I used an ampless pedalboard but of my own creation. I put all my wet effects after my Ampeg SCR DI and used a stereo set up so I can keep those effects out of the main signal chain as that is the best way to get an effects loop affect on an ampless rig and preserve your clean sound. The Helix is nice but a bit limited for what I need to reproduce compared to having separate pedals with a separate buffer, booster and a second preamp to run after the wet effects to balance the line into the house board.

I play bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, mandolin in the worship band at church. I just bought a helix floor after this. I'm getting old and carying an amp and pedal board around is getting difficult. having in all in one solution that also sounds great

im not a bass player or a guitarist but I dabble and have a helix I was looking to see if i should get a bass cab or just use my PA. After watching your video ill just use my pa and not bother upgrading to a different head. Like the music or not shes a platinum selling artist and that dude just runs a helix blows my mind. I assume he has lots of custom sound files but still. Dont need to blow the bank on gear anymore. Awesome video btw and I like those Genelecs in your studio!

I don’t know man, I’ll never trade my amps for this digital crap

    • @ExtremeBassGuitar

I personally bought a PA for my bass because of this. When I use the Helix with a bass amp it just doesn't sound right even when bypassing the amp simulation.

@@ExtremeBassGuitar. in the link in the description it doesn't say which rig it uses, it just says which amplifiers it uses ... making such a video without posting a patch is useless ... I know it changes 4 basses and patches for each song, but I don't understand the sense. Maybe he could have shown specifically how the tone of a song did. Or maybe it's a secret.
