- Compilation of cutscenes from DW5 that I missed during my cutscene collecting and unfortunately did not include within the cutscenes of the characters. Some of them were hard to trigger! Some of them you just wouldnt know they were there. There was one I couldnt get (Zhenji & Lu Xun at Hefei Castle), shoutout to Tiny Caterpillar, finding all the missing ones (plus one I found on my own) was thanks to his channel. Hope you guys enjoy! I really miss the easter egg cutscenes the games used to have.

DW5 felt like a passion project compared to the ones that came after, so much better

I know I'm probably the minority here, but DW 6 is my favorite. Yes they cut some characters out and they gave some characters clone movesets but the gameplay itself might be one of the best, if not the best in the franchise, the sheer amount of interactiveness and semi realistic extensive moveset makes me fall in love with the game.
But yeah overall DW 5 takes the cake ofcourse, in fact the entire Musou series peaked during that era, DW 5, SW 2, Warriors Orochi 1 and 2, made me wish I could forget the entire real life history and the game itself so I can enjoy the game like when I first played it.
back when 1000 KOs were nearly impossible in DW5. good fun times. Diao Chan blossoms so beautifully in this game and I've been in love with her ever since.

DW5 is most definitely my favorite in the series. Giving each character their own story mode was a GENIUS move!
I also like the uniqueness between characters. Cao Pi and Guan Ping were amazing characters that should have never lost their weapons in the next entry.

Nostalgic Vibes... My first Dynasty Warriors that I was playing during my childhood days was DW4, a purely Masterpiece DW game in my opinion. My favourite Dynasty Warriors games of the Entire Franchise will always be 3, 4, 5 and 6 on PS2. 🤷🏻♂️✌️
I only played DW8 but it makes me happy to see that even in DW5 some of the english voice actors are the same.

Man for years my buddy and I had a routine. Everyday after school we would go to my place and watch some cartoons then play DW.. I have very fond memories of us unlocking all the characters in this game and trying to hunt down all the cutscenes and beat all the modes together.. the series has never felt the same since. I remember when 6 came out we tried it and were so bummed and the tradition stopped lol.. now as adults we will on occasion pop in 8xl and play with the old costumes I had to buy when we have the chance and man it's still a blast. I just wish koei would get their shit together and release another proper DW game with the old combo system because 9 is trash😅

Yooo I'm so glad I found this channel! DW5 is just legendary and one of my favorite parts of this game was getting to see all the bad ass character specific cutscenes.
You should do a review series and review all the mainline DW games bro. Maybe even a tier list? I'd watch for sure. 👍

Loved this game. Wa some of my favorites. So many cutscenes and awesome duels they showed us. Not to mention the voice acting. To me DW 3, 5, and 8 are in a tier of their own.
Such good games, and I always loved the "easter eggs" that the older games had, you could only trigger these cutscenes and most of them in general by doing certain things, so fun
Remember how bad the timeline of deaths were? They used to have zhange fei and guan yu at ye ling when both were dead by that time, Cao Cao at fan castle, even though he was on the other side of the province at war, and had him alive at wu zhang, and sun hian at Chi BI 😂 from DW6 it became way more accurate
That's what made it so fun tho lol
It was 5 when they really started getting a lot better about it. I'd say 4, but 4 had a lot of "random playable general" positions, and Sun Jian as the Forever Wu Leader. It's generally only in a character's own musou mode that 5 has a tendency to have them live longer than they should in 5.
DW5. No Cow Cow at fan castle or wu zhang plains, Sun Jian and Sun Ce killed before battle of Chi Bi. Your memory is not working the way it it should.
The surprising cutscene belongs to Zuo Ci and Cao Cao at the Battle of Chibi because this stage is not for Zuo Ci in the main story. We must play this stage in Free Mode only to see it.

In-game cutscene is great but I freaking love the cinematic cutscenes, it really gives you that duststorm, stone story.
Dynasty warriors 3, 4 and 5 ai peon soldiers and the generals were great enemies.

I remembered few of these cutscenes, feels like the good old days. Dw5 was and still is the best dynasty warriors game, loved the story mode, cutscenes and soundtrack. I'll forever love this game. The later titles were not as fun, DW8 was good but this one was just different.

Gotta say dw5 is my favorite. If we could have all the characters that were in before the battle of wu zhang plains with unique weapons this would've been the best ever. For examples characters like Han Dang, Cheng Pu, Xu sheng or Liao hua, zhou cang, Guo Jia, xun yu.

Honestly, I wish that Pang De was a playable character in DW6! I think Pang De was a very underrated character!

Its still rather jarring to see officers and rulers that are normally dead at the time of certain cutscenes so many what if situations I forgot was a thing I'm glad DW8 brought back that concept

Without a doubt the best of the series. If only you could grind for a decent weapon early on in free mode like in this one and use it in the story. The way characters tell their story too is rather unique. It is too bad the other Dynasty warriors after that are just like a long movie. In this one you knew immediately the goals of the campaign you were in since you were briefed before. I miss this feature too.

In history, Pang De used poison to defeat Guan Yu so that Lu Meng could behead him

So currently KOEI is using the same timeline regarding the releases of Dynasty Warriors series (From technical standpoint)
Basically, Dynasty Warriors 3, 4, 5 are the same Game Engine. They improve the engine little by little every release.
And then when Dynasty Warriors 6 came out, they were experimenting with new Game Engine with new logic -such as enemies are magnetized towards your attacks range and gets dragged with it. However, this new Engine was so rushed, they couldn't implement all characters from Dynasty Warriors 5 in time (they hit the deadline) and the result, very few playable characters in DW6 and very heavily criticized for this decision.
Believe it or not, DW6 DW7 DW8 are using the exact same Game Engine which was started in DW6. And when DW7 came out with complete characters from DW5 and additional new characters, they still gets criticism for removing One-Long Musou attacks and replaced it with 1 time Musou attack that feels like QTE. Because they initially thought players don't like the Musou attacks animation as depicted in DW6.
When DW8 came out, they try to bring old style Musou attacks but renamed it with Rage mode. Which surprisingly accepted by the players.
After seeing this acceptance, KOEI thinks: what if we mix DW8 DW7 and DW5 together in 1 Single game? And THUS, came out Dynasty Warriors Online Z.
DWOZ is online game based on DW5 Engine, still with DW5 physics, but has all the contents from DW7 and DW8. Including Double Weapon switching logic which is surprisingly works better than DW7 or DW8. Players have mixed opinions about this game. It became very Pay-to-win game. Because the game itself doesn't have Gacha system. You must forge everything by yourself. So, either patiently spend months forging weapons and items, or pay real money to get it done instantly.
Players are outraged when KOEI decided to make certain DW8 weapons to be "Pay Only" which means players can never forge it. Thus the game losing playerbase really quick. They ended the service in February 2022.
DWOZ is the only dynasty warriors game that has "Proper water reflections". Which means, everything are properly reflected on water surface. And water is the only object in the game that has reflection. Yes! Even soldiers and animals are properly reflected on water puddles, river, lake, etc. DW8, DW7 and all other predecessor don't have this feature.
Considering it was using DW5 Engine, it really pushed the Engine to its limit. With very-far draw distance, adaptive fog-of-war , and Dynamic day-night cycle. Even DW7 or DW8 don't have "day-to-evening" or "dawn-to-morning" shift. Because it uses real life clock, where 30 minutes equal 1 day in the game.
When DW9 came out, it was criticized again because: They used brand new Engine again, and cutting edge in so many aspects. Like how tons of main characters shares the same types of weapons. And the only thing that makes them different, is the Musou attacks. Again, it's because they don't have time to import Character's weapons diversity from DW8. Even if they ended up releasing it as DLC, but still, it's like repeating the same mistake of DW6.
Exactly, but honestly I dont know even know why they feel rushed?? The game isnt like EA games, there's no demand to have one at a specific time each year, they have been working on the next DW for over 5 years and before DW9 came out it took roughly 5 years or so, they're definitely not releasing anything till probably 2024 or 2025 in terms of main series, so hopefully they learned their mistakes, adapted to the new engine and build an amazing game, there is no rush and honestly with DW9 being bad, DW10 has a great chance of being good, perfect? No. But good.

That’s why franchise musous and the goddamn mobile games are so important to them as a constant source of income. I hope they don’t ditch them and then rush stuff out again. Surely they must know the third time that the lack of diversity is always the reason a game isn’t popular

There is not! I looked at a channel called Tiny Caterpillar who had all the cutscens and based on context clues would hunt for them!
@@TheNightowlGaming thats quite disappointing because aren’t many of the scenes counterintuitive/ like you need the level to go poorly in order to see zhang he cutscene in guan du for example
@@nick1834 some of them were a little tricky, I still dontknow how to trigger then zhenji one at hefei castle with lu xun
@@TheNightowlGamingi just searched for that cutscene in youtube and saw it. I can only suggest play as her and go lu xun’s ambush. That might trigger it. Not sure what or how the ambush actually trigger. Maybe you need to lose some soldiers or something.
in game Sun Quan can destroy 5 enemy officers and 1000 troops, yet in the cut scene he cant fight against 4
