A disgrace because what? They chose not to risk injury to their important players in a game that for them was literally meaningless? They earned the right to do that by taking care of business and locking up home field.
I see both sides of this: 1. KC earned the right to rest their players 2. If Broncos would've played KC earlier, very likely they would've lost and Bengals would be in.
It's very likely Denver would have won anyway. They controlled the majority of the game in K.C and nearly handed them their first loss if not for a blocked FG. Denver always plays K.C super tough, and lay tons of hits on Patty. No reason for Chiefs to take that kind of abuse and risk injury for a meaningless game just to appease oldheads like MadDog. Since we're playing the "if" game(which you can play all day and make up infinite scenarios), even if they played earlier and Broncos lost, that Cincy-Denver game would mean Broncos absolutely need to win or be eliminated from playoffs so they would've played with more desperation. Bengals needed up until the final minutes of OT to beat out a rookie QB, and that's with Denver knowing they still had another chance next week.

It's a fundamental flaw in many sports. But, if there are loopholes, teams will always take advantage of them and do what they think is best for themselves.
I do understand what Dog's sayin, but you can't hate a team that wants to go to the play offs like it's the start of a new season. They want a 3 peat. That's just a part of sports we're going to have to accept as being integral. They did all they had to do in 17 games. They had nothing to play for except injuries. I mean, it's the last game of the regular season, and the Chiefs want it.
Andy Reid probably wanted to send a message to his non-star players-a reminder that it’s any given Sunday and, if they want to three-peat, everyone on the roster, from 1 to 53, has to step up and contribute
I agree 100%. They basically fixed that game, but players can't bet on games?? When it's that obvious that you're throwing a game the league should at minimum fine you. Edit: That goes for tanking as well.
The Chiefs have a responsibility to the Chiefs. They do not care about any other team nor do they care about how close their backups keep it with Denver. The Chiefs not only rested starters but also played a vanilla like preseason scheme on offense and defense, not wanting to put anything on tape for playoff opponents. With Denver playing starters and approaching the game like a playoff game, that's a recipe for a whooping. Again...KC did not care. They have a responsibility to themselves and nobody else. Fans and talking heads can punch the air all the want. Ask Packer fans if they wish their team had sat Christian Watson in week 18
The root cause is 17 regular season NFL games are too many. The financial incentives to keep adding more regular season games is obvious, but it means everyone is beat up after 16 games. If you've locked your spot in the playoffs (if any) then it's perfectly logical to use Week 17 to play your backups in a real game. This issue will only get worse if the NFL expands to 18 regular season games.
Adding more games is Ludacris! It really is, this is a violent sport n tacking on more games to line their pockets at the expense of the players health is ridiculous. 1 thing Shannon said that I agree with is if they r gonna continue to expand the season then they need to expand the roster as well because 53 man teams is not enough especially when some teams have really bad injury seasons like the niners n lions
I assume the Chiefs didn't care about winning, but you have to think they wanted their back ups to show something in that game. They had no grit or fight. Better hope none of those seven starters that sat get hurt because apparently they have no one that can back them up.
The actual backups played fine, like hicks and rameggio (probably butchered that) but half the guys on the field were backups to the backups and guys from the practice squad and a few were signed 4 days ago like linch or whatever his name was, who they cut yesterday lol there's actually nothing you can really take from that game and that's what they wanted. Now if somehow Denver beats the bills and kc has to play them, they have great tape on Denvers offense and Denver doesn't have much to go on besides their first match up where kc wasn't really showing anything in that game either. The actual backups, in a scenario where one guy goes down, would come into the game with actual starters playing and a real gameplan. Meaning they would look better just by being out there with the other starters. It makes your job easier when you surrounded by guys who know what they're doing.
Also, a lot of the Chiefs back ups were playing in positions that they don’t usually play. No tape for other teams to look at. Andy Reid and Spags are gonna bring out the real game plan in the playoffs.
Ask one question. If the Chiefs had #1 seed clinched and they could keep the Bengals out of the playoffs by beating Denver, would Mahomes have played? The obvious answer is no.
One of the main points in the NFL changing the final week or 2 to divisional games was to prevent this. They got tired of teams resting everyone. We are firing people for winning games(Mayo with the patriots) and allowing teams to essentially quit before the game started. Not good for the game IMO
Settle down mad dog…. they rested Pat Mahomes Travis Kelce, Isaiah Pacheco, Chris Jones, Nick Bolton Drew, Tranquill, OJ McDuffie….. should I continue? That’s the most idiotic take I’ve seen all year.
Maybe Cincy should take September more seriously and they wouldn't be praying the Chiefs win so they can sneak into the playoffs. 1st seed gets rest because they did their job all season long. Take notes
Sad Dog has issues. 1. The Chiefs are afraid of NOBODY. 2. Past History - When KC has nothing to play for , Reid rests his starters. Look at the Lombardi's and keep acting the fool. 3. Hey Bengals, win more games just like all the other playoff teams. 4. Honestly you are disrespecting the Broncos, at full strength KC won the first match-up with a blocked field goal. 5. See you at the 3-peat celebration.
The chefs were 15 and 1 resting the starters was the right thing to do. Look at Green Bay they played all their starters they lost their best wide receiver torn ACL so not only does he miss the rest of this season he's going to miss a lot of next season. On top of that the quarterback Jordan love got hurt too. he's going to be banged up against the eagles. So if Patrick mahomes who 2 weeks ago had an ankle injury gets hurt in his last game when he didn't need to play. That's their chances to go to the super bowl.
Travis Kelce is fired up from that game and all the comments from all the haters. KC fixing to head on to do a 3 peat. KC doesn't owe anyone anything. The goal at the end of last season was to win 3 in a row and set a new record which is what they are preparing to do.

As annoying as she can be, she at least has history of being a reporter and working her way up. Joy literally just spread her legs and Molly married(and divorced) Jalen Rose lmaoo
Oh cut it out!
Y’all act like this chick for a hair dresser gave yall facts. Apparently you wanna believe everything told instead of checking facts for yourself. By the way, don’t be lazy like these loser on the internet. Be better than this mate😎
🤣🤣💯
They should’ve fired the GM & kept Doug. Doug should’ve had his opinion heard on who the GM would be.
38-0 is crazy
It's a fundamental flaw in many sports. But, if there are loopholes, teams will always take advantage of them and do what they think is best for themselves.
Jim cornette brought me here 😂
I do understand what Dog's sayin, but you can't hate a team that wants to go to the play offs like it's the start of a new season.
He reminds me of Michael Scott 😂
If teams have nothing to play for why can’t they just forfeit the game
Money
They started Carson Wentz
The Chiefs would never admit this but I think they weren't trying t do the Bengals any favors.
I agree 100%. They basically fixed that game, but players can't bet on games?? When it's that obvious that you're throwing a game the league should at minimum fine you. Edit: That goes for tanking as well.
This man does realize none of their starters played right
rams...hold my beer
I didn’t realize the Jaguars owner was that bad. I thought George McCaskey was bad
If we lose by 3 instead of 30 what difference does it make to any team in the league?
Mad dog on tv is a disgrace. Him and Skip should have a show
The root cause is 17 regular season NFL games are too many.
We'll have 20 games by 2030 don't worry
Adding more games is Ludacris! It really is, this is a violent sport n tacking on more games to line their pockets at the expense of the players health is ridiculous. 1 thing Shannon said that I agree with is if they r gonna continue to expand the season then they need to expand the roster as well because 53 man teams is not enough especially when some teams have really bad injury seasons like the niners n lions
@@theape6778u might be right😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Plus the chiefs had their bye week in week 6, plus just played 3 games in 11 days. They needed the rest for their playoff push
@scottw5247 this x10. 3 games in 11 days is horrible for any team.
The Chiefs wanted the Bengals REAL BAD in the playoffs, but the Bengals laid down and lost 8 games.
I assume the Chiefs didn't care about winning, but you have to think they wanted their back ups to show something in that game. They had no grit or fight. Better hope none of those seven starters that sat get hurt because apparently they have no one that can back them up.
Thank you
They had guys who played for the 1st time ever...the point was to not win.
News flash, playing a team full of third stringers against a team at full strength means you lose lol.
Also, a lot of the Chiefs back ups were playing in positions that they don’t usually play. No tape for other teams to look at. Andy Reid and Spags are gonna bring out the real game plan in the playoffs.
Mad dog is hilarious 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ask one question. If the Chiefs had #1 seed clinched and they could keep the Bengals out of the playoffs by beating Denver, would Mahomes have played? The obvious answer is no.
This and Stephen A’s list have my cracking up
One of the main points in the NFL changing the final week or 2 to divisional games was to prevent this. They got tired of teams resting everyone. We are firing people for winning games(Mayo with the patriots) and allowing teams to essentially quit before the game started. Not good for the game IMO
Mad Dog never played a sport in his life 😂😂😂😂
Why would Andy Reid show any of his playoff playbook to a team he could possibly play in the divisional round 2 weeks later?
Commanders fan here… I feel for you Jags fans , it is an atrocity down in Jacksonville bro
The Chief’s are 1 and done
They weren’t competitive
That’s a losing mentality
Hopefully the Chiefs rest up and give us some thrilling games on the way to a three peat !!!!
Uhmm, Detroit and Minnesota were playing for the number 1 seed😭 cmon mad dog
But his point is Detroit had nothing to play for against the 49ers the week before they still went out and played.
@@chasetullar2732yes, and Detroit has not earned the benefit of the doubt over Kansas City in terms of organizational decision making.
@@chasetullar2732Not true because if they lost. They’ll be a game behind Minnesota.
@@chasetullar2732Lions need to play there players
we all have a mad dog inside of us
Broncos gave up 16 to the starters. Its not unfathomable for the backups to be held scoreless
Sorry we’re on a different tier. We could play guys off the street if we wanted to 🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣
No opportunities are ever passed on to trash the Chiefs
