They are very good with customer service and satisfaction Wayne.....I have just received 27 to 30 and your info and knowledge is greatly appreciated, please keep it up mate.
I just watched someone else's videos "Geek your fix" he is so untidy in his build, with no attention to details etc, 🎉I'm so happy that I subscribed to your TH-cam channel
Won't be doing this one, but enjoy watching the build. I have also been impressed with customer support of Fanhome and Agora. Just finished Terminator and had to have them send another stage missing from last pack. No questions, just sent it out. And now I've requested new circuit board for head as nothing works (eyes don't light up or move). Already told me they'll be sending me a replacement part. So hate to see stuff go wrong, but it does happen and so far customer service for both of these companies has been very good.
I am really enjoying these video builds. I am normally not inclined to subscribe to these long term builds as the overall cost seems excessive. However, having watched all of your R2D2 builds so far, I have actually taken out a subscription (using your link). The build quality seems really good - I am pleased to see a lot of metal has been used instead of plastic. Looking forward to my first two sections arriving soon. Thank you for your informative videos Wayne.
Hey! I'm going to try a bit of "name that tune" just for a laugh? Your segment bumpers musical snippet sure does remind me of "Star Trek VI:. The Undiscovered Country". One moment...one moment ..my HAL 9000 agrees. OK, My nerdiness is on full display.
I think a sleeve over the emitter and/or the receiver on the opto sensor PCB may solve the issue. Of course they may need to be angled slightly as a result. I suspect this is a design issue rather than a faulty part and a small piece of heatshrink, or silicon rubber tubing would solve the problem.
Hi Wayne! I so want to get my hands on this R2 kit. I was wondering if you could design a replacement calibration part in Tinkercad and print it? Did you feel it was the sensor itself or the placement of the calibration part? But loving the videos!
everything works for me, but my black sensor cable(both sensor legs) in issue 53, when conected to the test board, it makes a tickle sound as a Woody Woodpecker on a tree, is this a problem?
@@WorldofWayneUK the sound comes from the sensor that have a small 1 white rubber with a black cable , pressing it makes the sound lower but can still hear next to the hear, release it makes the sound louder
So I have a question that the only answer I have seen is half scale. So I have seen you have already built one of these units. What is the height of the completed droid?
I'm just going to frustrated, now that I'm at this point I was testing the lights and everything works but it is almost as of testing it is pointless because now I can't get any of the plugs out and I don't have anything to help me take them out and I'm breaking my fingernails trying to get them out and I'm ready to f****** throw a tantrum like how the f*** do I get these out😂😂
So yeah like the entire thing just broke. Like the R2-D2 parts are fine it's just the motherboard that slid off. So I guess it's not broken but it's just like I can't get the piece connected the wire to the board off like it's it just slid off completely. Guessing cuz it was small so it'd probably been was a little tight and it just didn't come off and said just slid right off the metal. It's frustrating cuz it's just like you know I can probably break it off I don't know like it's just like what the heck The metal parts fine I don't know like I'm really done with this testing part like I know you really want to test it for like you know you get everything together but it's stupid that the testing part is the most frustrating part of this whole build. Like I guess I'll send them a message about it but it's just it's just like I spent more time trying to get the freaking thing off of the board just so I can continue doing the rest of this. I rated 4 months just so I had a stockpile of parts just to work on and literally I spent an hour working on trying to pull things apart just for it to break off like WTF so I know I just really love this building just like literally the test and part it's just the waste of my time on this build
@@WorldofWayneUK I don't have anything small enough I've been rocking it side to side. It was the smaller one I struggled with. I'm trying to take the wheel sensor out and that's stuck too. Everything is working though

You SOOO need to build a 1:1 astromech! I so want to do that one day and take it to conventions.

Thanks for all the tips the build is going great enjoying it im a few months behind you here in the states
That calibration panel was clearly a fix for a design problem that they spotted late.
Second leg did not get the (calibration) panel.
It is the same with both versions.
Loving the build as all ways.
Stay safe all.
That's Correct Wayne it didn't come with the other leg. great video 😀

Ok - I’m late to the game but signed up to this (via your link of course)

I'm about the same way through my r2d2 build and was wondering how many of those hex screws do you need for the inside of the dome?
11:00+ - maybe you should put some resin to the motor too… it moves while it works…

Definitely the sensor. All the calibration thing is doing isn’t lifting the sensor. You could cut your own one out of the plastic packing cases lol

Mummy not sure. Is the sound coming from the test board?

@@randowmnmae2401 yer that shouldn't be making any noise. I would get another
The one I'm talking about is the cable that appears on stage 20 , the LFR -01
now the sound appears when i try to test the ultrasonic sensor in issue 82, is it possible the sensor control board be faulty?

Is there an enterprise content coming? Loving your complete redo of the build and wanting more
I’m behind at the moment . I need to catch up
Curious to see the improvement by your custom modding of it.
How do I get to the website to get the tools

Dear friend Wayne how can I contact customer service about an issue I have with the right sensor on my R2-D2
Fanhome release this now. They would be the peeps to try first

It’s about 48-49 cm high
Is this this same as the other r2d2 videos you have?
Yep
@@WorldofWayneUK like the one from 3 years ago probably should've made that clear lol
Sounds like a better company than eaglemoss!
the other sensor of my R2D2 was fault

I tend to you needle nosenpliers and put each side of the JST plug and gently rock from right to left
