So Hyang has such incredible vocal skills in the higher registers that most miss that her most masterful skills are in the soft lower registers, and singing softly. The beginning of a lot of her songs use this, often a head voice to go with it. Look at arirang alone, or bridge over troubled waters etc....how she begins those songs. It takes a lot more vocal control to sing long phrases softly, and she is the master of it.

Love the way you reacted and appreciated this Sohyang's "Oh Holy Night" here. I absolutely love it. This performance has not been viewed as much, and I believe, because it's so well known and doesn't provoke curiosity, but Sohyang transformed my feeling for this song completely. Forget about her vocal skills for a moment, the delivery of this song is so cinematic to me. When she started the first verse, I almost could see a camera pan to a cabin house next to a snow covered woods with the backdrop of an open sprawling field with the bright moon casting light on the scene. And you can hear the sound of a new born baby coming from the house. It's filled with peace and joy. After the first chorus , Sohyang switched to her powerful chest-mixed voice, the song takes on the task of admiring the miracle and singing the praise to the Heavenly Father. When hitting the second chorus, Sohyang's voice simply soared. It's downright majestic. I would also comment that Sohyang closed out this song so beautifully with her mesmerizing vibrato. There is no better messenger for this song than Sohyang in the delivery of its intended meaning. I join you with my own tears. Great reaction!
If I’m not mistaken, SO HYANG was diagnosed with cancer…after surviving the ordeal she saw her second chance at life as a gift from God and dedicated her voice/life to brining joy to others…she is a gospel singer who grew up singing in church and she rejected international fame choosing instead to sing only for Jesus and to raise money for charity. This is why I believe we feel so much from her singing...its from above and real.

It's hot here; the temperature is almost 40 degrees Celcious every day but, thanks to her, I enjoyed pleasant Christmas even though it was just for a moment. :) Sincere reaction, as always.
