Vivaldi especially was making metal before metal was even a thing. I am surprised his Folia did not make it into the list, because that finale is harder than a lot of today's black metal songs.
Vivaldi invented heavy metal. The Red Priest was composing his music in churches and cathedrals to honor God with the people attending the mass. It doesn't get more gothic and heavy metal than this. La Folia is legendary.

This is awesome! Would love to see these works included in future playlists for "hardcore" classical music: 1. "Mars" from Holst's "The Planets;" what I imagine hardcore classical music to be 2. Vesuvius, Frank Ticheli; is this considered classical? 3.Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral; starts off slowly, but the buildup is worth it 4. Finale from Stravinsky's Firebird Suite; purely epic music
Thank you for the awesome suggestions! As a music label we can only feature the recordings we own in our compilations, but we're constantly working towards expanding our catalogue and recs are absolutely welcome 🤗
Mars is also one of the most iconic, influential pieces ever written! Many movies ripped it off, including Star Wars. Quite a few bands too. Off the top of my head, the songs Am I Evil? by Diamond Head and The Reign ov Shemsu Hor by Behemoth blatantly ripped it off at the start. Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath too, but it's not as obvious.

I don't think it needs to be used in hip hop to go hard. And in most of those cases, the hip hop song only goes hard because the classical samples they use. Not that I hate hip hop, I have discovered I have a liking for classic hip-hop, the 90s stuff in particular. I don't always agree with the message, but the underground east coast stuff is legit art, in my opinion. There is a great channel that only does underground classic hip-hop, his name is Nicola Armellin I believe, and he has really great taste, and access to an enormous amount of obscure old records and tapes. I thought I hated "rap music" until I found that channel a couple of years ago. French language hip-hop from the 90s? Sure. Great mixes.

@@AKolada86 I mean…I said it was epic 🤷🏻♂️
2,5 hours breakfast ? You probable prepared a full english ;-)
I once did this whilst struggling to put down some underlay for a rug, it was sticking to everything, I couldn't get it straight, it was epically frustrating, the music didn't make it any easier but it was hilarious at the same time 🤣
I just discovered TH-cam and never thought I will find a music that sound alike back in my days in 1400's.
It is another level of beauty to listen to an orchestra performing live in a beautiful concert hall.

yep, found myself headbanging several times. Can confirm list goes hard.
I didn't look at the tracklist, just listened to it while reading. After a while, I looked and saw that the video was almost over and I was extremely upset at not hearing Dvorak Symphony no.9. Thank god you just decided to save the best for last since that composition absolutely SLAPS!
Wow, yeah it almost sounds like I’m on a freaking adventure!
Agreed, the fourth movement is an absolute banger!
We played that in high school!
Upon discovering this playlist, I almost commented that Dvorak must be on here. I'm barely in the first quarter of the playlist. Glad to know I'm right!

When we got to basic training for the Army. We all sat down in a big formation. Out of now where Wagners Ride of the Valkyries comes on and all of the Drill Instructors came charging in and yelling! They started screaming at us to get up, stand at attention and then filtering us into our platoons. What a sight. It was pretty awesome.
I don't know what I would do working now on my deadline without your music in the background! Thank you Halidon Music so much! 😄

I sang Dies Irae as a 1st bass in a choir 500 strong once with a full orchestra. Ive never experienced classical music slapping so hard before. It was truly an insane experience.
That sounds incredible!

Right on sounds amazing! Read this comment just as it started!
I posted pics, but someone in the comments still said “didn’t happen”… what now
Imagine hearing this for the first time when it was composed 😮❤😢
Considering how incredible it still feels today, back then it must have been mind-blowing! 🤯
Actually I prefer hearing now, because a single one of those tracks makes me remember a lot of other ones that got inspired by them at the same time, it's quite awesome ^^
Still, hearing it live from an orchestra instead of a computer should be much better x)
Imagine being composed when hearing this for the first time.
Listening to this, tears come easily; I can only imagine how much more emotional it would be in person.

The latter is but an impossible task if ye king you speak of is Henry the Eight! *chortles fancily*
Vivaldi especially was making metal before metal was even a thing. I am surprised his Folia did not make it into the list, because that finale is harder than a lot of today's black metal songs.
black metal could be the hardest metal genre out there if they'd just use decent recording equipment.
@@o15523Black metal better when raw.
Vivaldi and Avenged Sevenfold 💀✨❤️ If you make a playlist of JUST them 👀. 👌🏻🤟🏼
Vivaldi invented heavy metal. The Red Priest was composing his music in churches and cathedrals to honor God with the people attending the mass. It doesn't get more gothic and heavy metal than this. La Folia is legendary.
It is really nice to finally hear the dynamic parts of well known calm pieces like Pomp and Circumstance.

I remember at university, I record something classical. I passed the assignment but not the best grade.
I didn't actually enjoy what I was doing but I was just doing the asssignment hoping to get it over and done with it since it was the last assignment before christmas break and I was holding it for too long. I submitted the assignment, not the best grade, still passed. Now im listening to this thinking if I actually planned my assignment better and they gave me this type of music to record, I could've created a banger.
Lesson learned for the next time
@@Gesh7 well I didn't really enjoy the subject topic overall as it wasn't my favourite music study and I still passed somehow but I guess so.
This is awesome! Would love to see these works included in future playlists for "hardcore" classical music:
1. "Mars" from Holst's "The Planets;" what I imagine hardcore classical music to be
2. Vesuvius, Frank Ticheli; is this considered classical?
3.Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral; starts off slowly, but the buildup is worth it
4. Finale from Stravinsky's Firebird Suite; purely epic music
Franz Liszt ,Tottentanz
"The Planets" is one of the best
Great list! I'd add Brahms second piano concerto (second movement). That gets pretty dark pretty quick.
It took me almost 60 years to figure out I liked classical from my hard rock roots. This is a great f'n compilation.
ur one hip of a grandpa
Thank you, your comment made our day! It's never too late to discover a new passion, and despite what some people might think rock/metal and classical music are very compatible🤘
@@RealMakarov Thanks, not a Grampa yet lol.
@@HALIDONMUSIC Indeed. that was a few years ago, and I will always love bands like Zep. Bonham your missed m'fer. But yeah once you open the floodgates there is no turning back. It was Beethoven's 4th 1st movement with Carlos Klieber conducting, also one of fav conductors. that triggered me HARD, and to this day makes the waterworks flow among many other pieces. I remember listening to it but can't remember why or where. Senior moment i guess.
Paintings colour space, music colours time. Some music, however, is timeless.

Hehe, once you open that door there is no going back 🔥
So there I was sharpening my bayonet before the Revolution started and out of nowhere I hear “The Red Coats are Coming!!” And that’s when I sprang into action.
some others i suggest
Holst - Mars
Mahler - Resurrection symphony 5th movement (excerpts), Symphony #10 first movement (excerpts)
Bruckner - symphony #9 2nd movement
Shostakovich - symphony #8 - 3rd movement.
Orff - O Fortuna
Richard Strauss - Alpine Symphony - Storm
Modest Mussorgsky - Pictures at an exhibition - Baba Yaga
Agree, pretty much all of Pictures at an Exhibition could be included. (Also, it's a shame not to credit Ravel, who wrote the original).
@@StoicTheGeek he didn't write the original. He orchestrated it. The original was a piano suite by Modest

@tylermock9949 can you give me 5, of the hundreds of examples, drop 5 please.
@hstone0808 5 songs? K
Metal: anything ""children of bodem"", anything ""cradle of filth"", anything ""dimmue borgie"",
I can keep going but how bout you just go ahead and pick a metal band that doesn't have classical influence and sounds in it. I dare you.
Rap: literally anything ""jedi mind tricks"", DMX has a couple songs with classical music equipment. Same as eminem, Dr, Dre. Basically anybody who did a song with a fckin piano beat. 🤣 bro this wasn't hard either I could keep going but I believe I've proved my point 🤣
@tylermock9949 oh hell to NO. The statement wasn't, rap and/or metal has classical INSTRUMENTS,... no sir, the statement Said that rap/metal actual used classical is that type of music, which I called b.s. and I second that statement at this point and your argument is not valad.

@@HALIDONMUSIC straight gas!
So many classic hip hop anthems use classical snippets they sample from. So yes, classical can go hard, and can get very sinister as well.
