Mind blowing. I believe Weta would love this. You’re not just a passionate collector, you’re a hell of a creative, hard working man. Great job, what a stunning giant diorama !
@@nymtes I'm a software developer. The energy / time / money comes from spreading it out over a looonngg time... this took me about 4 months to do, and I only had time to work on it during weekends.
Hey man thank you! It was a lot of fun to work on and learned a lot in the process :D I've actually been wondering what the state of your collection is... are you working on a new display?
Thank you! Yeah I was hesitant about doing the lights as it drastically increased how long everything took but I think well worth it in the end. Thanks for watching!
Looks absolutely amazing!! Cant believe this is your first time. The video was so enjoyable to watch, showing the planning and build. My hat off to you for a fantastic job 😊
Thanks Todd! There was a lot of learning going on here and it took about 4 months to make (though mostly weekends). Really appreciate the kind comment! 😄
Mine too, very glad I detoured to do the lighting, it's hard to capture on camera but in person it looks really cool. Thank you for commenting Stephanie!
Masterfully done, Ryan. If I had the room, this is definitely a project I would attempt to do as well. I'm a huge nerd and probably would try to 3D print a to scale Gandalf and Frodo on wagon with on looking hobbits and maybe.5 -.75" cutouts for the black bases to rest down into and be hidden from view once put into place. I thought about how good a painted wall background would look and maybe if it were done right with glow in the dark painted stars, etc that maybe that could be another avenue to explore. I love your automated day and night lighting set up, it's absolute perfection. Your imagination and creativity is AWESOME.
This turned amazing Ryan! The lanterns and the changeable light to simulate night and day just takes it to the next level! I was really curious where this was going to end up and it's a perfect choice in your hallway.
Thanks man, you know me I always gotta do something with lighting. 😆 Yeah it really was the only spot left near the rest of my collection and although it does make the hallway a bit more narrow it's an easy sacrifice. Appreciate the comment!
Best thing I have seen in a long time! And that lamps put it on different level, amazing. What about hiding of the bottom part of table by some curtain/blanket with Lotr/Shire theme? You can than use that hidden space for something... I would use that for storing statue boxes. :D And it would be awesome to paint that wall behind it. Map of Middle Earth, or something else. And maybe some ideas to add :D just ideas, not criticism :D Hedges, fences, field or bed for growing plants, tropaeolum (nasturtium) plant...that is flower I have connected to hobbit houses :D . I really like sunken way (holloway) especially when it is covered by trees from above. And little Gandalf on a cart crossing that stone bridge. :D I love it, you again suprised us. If you will continue this way, you next project will be real Hobbiton village, try Kickstarter. :D
Ryan you are a Genius and a wizard because this is just incredible. This is a Weta level shire , I could definitely see this amazing work display at the weta Cave,,, fantastic job Ryan
Wow. Incredible, your a genius. What an awesome job you have done, so well planned and executed, I was blown away by the love and skill. Thanks for sharing.
Oh yay, you did get the big Bag End! Now you’ll have to make a vid at Halloween and Christmas with the seasonal versions of 16 Hill Lane and 35 Bagshot Row! 😉
Those are actually the only ones I don't have as it's so specific for just those few, to me it wouldn't go well with the rest. They are still pretty cool alone though.
Woaw!!! this is wonderful. Your work in progress is very instructive but cleaning this kind of epic diorama must be a nightmare ... 😱 Thanks you for sharing this video ... 👌👋
Incredible work, what a nice and relaxing journey before entering your collection room where the war of the ring is going on. Did you consider putting grass and dirt on the black bases of the hobbit holes or you didn't want to ruin/devalue them?
sorry missed this! Yeah that basically what happened, I'd love to hide the black but wanted to make sure the hobbit holes stay in good condition if I ever need to sell :D
OM Freaking God….I absolutely loved this video. More than I can imagine and anticipated. Love every detail that you put into this diorama. When you showed from going light to dark I just gleamed with happiness grinning ear to ear. You know how I feel about these hobbit holes buddy. A few more I need to complete until they make more again. Great video bud. Cheers, thanks for sharing this with us. 🥃🥃
That looks really well done, if its the creative part with all the planning to the last detail u must have been thru Aand the execution of craftig it. You have my deep respect. Consider this aproved!👌🏻 "More power hrr hrr " Tim Taylor ...
What a great idea on how to extend your collection from the room. I see a lot of open wall space waiting to join the fun. I may have missed it but did you mention how many hours this was?
Thank you Momo! I'm not sure the hours, but I started it in January though have mostly worked only on weekends. It was a lot of work but a ton of fun. Thanks for the comment!
Absolutely beautiful. I wish I had room for one. I do want to point out that 1 Bag End is Not the address of Sam's Hobbit hole. That was an error Weta made which fans pointed out and Weta corrected by making 3 Bag End. At the end of The Return of The King you can actually see the number 3 on his mailbox. Otherwise, stunning work. I wish I was your neighbor. Take care
ha yeah I wondered about that... the bottom of the hole said 1 Bagshot Row but noticed that Weta's website only said "Smial of Sam". Thanks for the comment really appreciate it!
Having worked in industrial environment for years. My first thought was I wonder about all the fumes. Your efforts were well rewarded, and glad you recovered!
If your guests aren't jealous when they see your diorama they must be spies of Sauron.
So gorgeous. 10/10 Good sir!

@@thecyberhobbit what kind of job do you do besides youtube? where do you get your energy time and money from to do these huge projects?

Nicely done! I wish Weta would make hobbit figurines in scale with the hobbit-holes that could be placed around the homes.
Such an incredible job. This should have millions of views...
Wow. Just…….wow.
Best handcrafted stuff i have ever seen, my skills ended in the idea phase :)
Great work Ryan. Love the night time view of this.
Thank you sir!
This is simply stunning. Amazing work!

This diorama looks closer to JRR Tolkien original vision. He did a artwork of Hobbiton look. Well done! Stunning work.
Thanks Steve I appreciate that!
Absolutely beautiful diorama. I could stare at it for hours.
How it looks in the dark with the lights is my favorite thing about this, wow!! Great job!
