He could sing his ass off when he was with the group, and when he left the group, thank you for this song God really gave him a beautiful voice
Sweet Philly Soul ❤
We ( Sly, Slick & Wicked) were on a concert with them at The Kool Jazz Festival in Kansas City, Missouri. It was Us (Sly, Slick & Wicked), Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes, Count Basie, Ohio Players, New Birth, Isley Brothers, BB King, Cannonball Adderley, Bobbi Humphrey, Freddie Hubbard. 🎶
That list⬆️⬆️.....Nothing but heavyweights...💯💯💯 #ColdBlooded💥💥💥
The LEGENDARY Harold Melvin and his blue notes featuring THEODORE PENDERGRASS aka the voice 💙
"Wake Up Everybody" by Harold Melvin and The Blue Notes featuring Teddy Pendergrass. Their debut single. Positive vibes and still relevant today.🔥🔥
Had so so many beautiful records! Incredible catalog of music One of the greatest groups to come out of Philly ✌️
Teddy is just....smh oh my God!!!
Fact
U can’t go wrong with Teddy. Always on point. “Classic “. One of a kind voice. ❤❤❤
He has officially went to the top of my list lol
@wilmawither8015, @Sylvia-d7w: You are right except for the part where you said he had a one of a kind voice. Even Teddy admitted he got his voice from The Dells' lead singer Marvin Junior. Please listen to their songs and tell me you don't hear the similarity!
TSOP FOREVER ❤
Harold Melvin even side-eyed Teddy, when he sung lead with Sharon Paige singing on, "Hope That We Can Be Together, Soon!" HA HA!!!
Jealous heart
This is one of the songs that helped the Sound of Philadelphia become a power house. The sound of Philadelphia (TSOP) was to the 70s, what Motown was to the 60s. Along with The OJays, The intruders, Billy Paul, MFSB, The Three Degrees, The Trammps (Disco Inferno) and so many others. The sound that made the 70s so memorable! Also the Disco sound was pretty much invented by TSOP performers.
Facts 💯
even with this group when he went solo he still made classics
I'ma get to em too!!
The Love I Lost, & Where are all my Friends?
The full length cut is a total masterpiece of pure emotion. Never bettered!
This was a major cut and classic!
It had to be lol....how could it not?...smh man
Soul stirring growm folks music. RIP big Teddy P. TYVM Bro D from QB. Catching the ride w you.
lol yes ma'am!!
Love this song. I listen to it alot. Teddy doesn't miss. His voice is one of a kind. ❤
He is absolutely destroying this lol...oh my God!
In reality, Teddy Pendergrass' voice favors Marvin Junior of The Dells and Gamble & Huff had The Dells record this entire album (thinking it would be for them) and used their voices as a guide for the Blue Notes' debut LP! Please listen to The Dells' work such as "Oh What A Night" and "The Love We Had Stays On My Mind" and you will see the similarity!
Classic
You'll never run out group's hard siingers to react to in this eta thanks for this one my brotha
He let her get away…..😢😢
I know....smh...
If that ain't jealousy!!! That was just before Teddy would go solo!!! Teddy Pendergrass, would even leave Gamble & Huff, Philly International, eventually after going solo!
He believed in himself....
Brother D, on another note, Marvin Gaye would have turned 86 this year (April 2) if he had lived. While he had so many hits, please react to “Inner City Blues” sometime. It is politically correct for the time (the 70s) and very relevant today. As James Brown said “Please, Please, Please”! That’s another JB hit you should not sleep on if you hadn’t heard it yet.
Teddy Pendergrass was the star, definitely!!! I think Harold was jealous of him!!! Harold Melvin, would eventually put his name out front!!!
My pops told that he threatened Teddy too when Teddy said he would leave....and he did lol
HOPE THAT WE CAN BE TOGETHER SOON.
THE LOVE I LOST.
ID YOU DON'T KNOW ME BY NOW.
BAD LUCK.
WAKEUP EVERYBODY.
All on my list Ms. Sassy
@Dabridge4009
😁🤗
Truthfully, THIS is Teddys BEST song! He sang his heart out…but the Blue Notes were on point as well. Heck, it’s THEIR best song. 🎶I swear I done changed🎶 I’d have taken him back. Y’all give Teddy too much credit! You don’t hear that falsetto….puh lease!
And that PIANO!
It’s a great song. A classic, but if I never heard it again I wouldn’t miss it. Teddy is on deck and killing it, though.
I'm surprised to hear that Ms. Rose....wow! lol
@@Dabridge4009 It just got played too much.
@@rosemarywatson1231 mmm
