I don't know why he doesn't wait until they turn purple but you can get the green things just from these flies and the raps, doesn't matter or it is in the round or not
He opens them beacause I think thats how they turn purple or it speeds the process of waiting.

tom i think those tanks are for your zombie shield, when you boost with your shield you lose a boost until you're out, but if you get that im pretty sure that it refills your shield boosters, try it out!

I tried using Aftertaste after getting Perkaholic and when I got downed it ended the whole game at round 12 after i revived. such nonsense! i was pissed! has this happened to anyone else? or is it to keep people from keeping all 7 perks after being downed? i dont get why it would end the whole game if that were the case

the two tube looking things in the pods are to recharge your rocket shield if you have used the rocket ability on it
Mot,the propane tanks give you the rocket shield boost thing and in order to get the tentacles for the wonder weapon,you need to wait until the pods are purple
