I am shocked at how often I use my Knippex. I use them way more than I ever thought I would. Great to have.
Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. I used mine for the kitchen sink and at work. It does not get used a lot but when you need pliers, it is better to have than the needle nose pliers of the Leatherman.
Thanks for your thoughts!
I'm the exact opposite, I really could use a set of pliers wrench, I edc a heavy duty Leatherman and use alot but I also have a small set of stubby wrenchs I carry in my back pack that I use just about as much. I got a really good deal of the wrenchs is why I didn't get the pliers wrench
I have this particular tool in my pocket every day it’s great when you have it for tightening and loosening water outside faucets so you aren’t having to go back to your tool box to get a wrench for one example.
May I humbly suggest that if your outside faucet is leaking regularly, you change the faucet.
@@urbanknifeguy I guess I wasn’t clear, one of the ways I use the mini pliers is for that, and my faucets don’t leak regularly it’s for when I change or need to tighten the hose to the faucet 🤷🏻♂️
@@vaughnwesterby5162 haha I figured as much. Just teasing. 🤭
@@urbanknifeguy 👍🏻
The knipex cobra mini water pump pliers are TRULY EXCELLENT... I couldn't decide whether to carry these or the knipex mini needlenose combination pliers ...
So I carry both ..with my sak ranger ...
This is the ultimate urban survival edc kit...
You're a madman brother.
Thanks for sharing!
I remember seeing your other video and disagreeing with it too. But I just took it as you never using pliers. But yeah for me the Knipex is invaluable. For taking out bits, for unscrewing microphone accessories, for tightening and loosening bolts etc. Im' not exaggerating here but I straight-up donated all my open-ended wrenches, all my adjustable wrenches because Knipex are that hecking good. Knipex and a Toolcheck plus shrank my toolbox by 80 percent. I do agree that these don't need to be physically carried in a pocket. But they are extremely helpful nearby. I have one in my car, one in my house, one in my office cabinet etc.
Thanks for your comment. Now that I have finally got it! I will see how it goes in the first month EDCing it.
Hi! I use to carry a Knipex Cobra 125 and my Victorinox Mountaineer, is perfect for me. 👌🏻
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
I carry a small Victorinox Swiss Army knife and a Knipex Cobra XS tool as an EDC for survival emergency uses only.
Thanks for sharing!
I love my Cobra XS and often carry it. It fulfils the function of both an adjustable spanner / wrench, as well as precision pliers, but pliers which are far more capable that other ones with an equivalent head size, since the design and construction means an immense amount of force can be applied. It does however lack wire cutting capability so it's a trade off vs that and the wrench function, it depends upon which of those 2 functions you are more likely to need to use on a regular basis.
Having said that the last few days I've been carrying my Vic Climber paired with Leatherman Squirt PS4. This is a light duty toolset, but I was also carrying a Leatherman Bond in my bag, together with a 4 inch Bahco adjustable spanner / wrench (a vintage one from the 70s, made in Sweden!) for any heavier jobs. As it's my day off today and I won't be carrying my bag, I am carrying my Farmer X, together with the Cobra XS. These 2 are heavier duty than the Climber/Squirt combo.
But the Knipex is also so accurate that it can be used for precision jobs, even pulling a stray facial hair for example.
Another good option for a pocketable dedicated pliers is the Channellock 4.5 inch Little Champ slipjoint pliers, it can also handle nuts and bolts although I doubt that one could apply as much force / torque as the Knipex due to the design. On the other hand it does have wire cutters.
The Cobra XS is a great option for those of us in Europe, the pricing is such that you can buy a Vic Super Tinker and a Cobra XS for less than the price of the LM Squirt when it was last available. Also less than pretty much any decent pliers-based multitool.
Furthermore we are extremely limited on the choice of pliers based multitools we can legally carry here in the UK for example, in fact there is no good full sized multitool with pliers, scissors, blades and drivers/general prying implements, with a non-locking blade. The only ''one and done'' multitool I can legally carry is the Vic Swisschamp.
The Leatherman Bond is nice but lacks scissors. The Rebar knifeless is great but without a blade. So if you want that toolset you have to carry 2 items at least, unless you're carrying a Swisschamp.
However I do understand that it costs a lot more in other parts of the world i.e. N. America and Asia.
Thanks for your comment. I do keep forgetting about your knife laws and how it can be tricky to navigate. I look forward to reporting how my Knipex EDC goes after a month.
Here is my load put for edc .
Fenix er18 v2
Knipex xs cobra
Swiss compact
Random knife
Alpaka zip pouch pro .
The pouch is carried in my left pocket inside is a small Bic and gorilla tape wrapped around a piece of credit card an extra battery for my flashlight and my ID card and credit card it sounds like alot but it is very compact and light. Great video and I need a cyber tool .
Thank you for sharing your EDC loadout!
I have these and love them
Thanks for sharing!
I like it I keep both of them in my backpack at work and use all the time
Thanks for sharing!
I have a similar pliers. After having an injury cause my lose strength. The pliers help a lot.
Fair enough! Valid point. Thanks!
I took my Cobra out of my EDC bag a while ago and replaced it with a B/Bury multitool and Gerber Chonk, since I use both of them far more than the pliers, which i never touched even once. And I also added a Kershaw TX tool that I use all the time. The Cobra is now in my car's tool kit, and I did use it once to fix the headlight on my car, which was handy, so that's where it'll stay.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I have the Knippex not in my EDC pouch, but in my car kit. Great pliers with great advantages over Leather (or similar) pliers. In car kit ist still a Leatherman Bond (because of non locking according legal regulation in my country) and the Victorinox Camper.
Thanks and understandable!
I just bought a Cobra XS, was on sale at a local shop for 34 CAD. I pair it with my Roxon KS2 Elite and Spyderco Yojimbo 2.
Nice triple combo!
It cuts wire and runs leatherman ratchet driver. I never go anywhere without it. Also carry a pioneer x.
It fits in my phone case along with 8 bits, a leatherman ratchet driver, fire steel, 3 needles, matches, ruler, 10 m wire, 20 meter floss, compass, two safety pins, 20 meter bear thread. Pack and seal in mylar or shrink in wire isolation.
Do give more about your case please!

I cut off the flip-out card holder. It's my third such case as I have gone through phones.

I just got a pair last month, surprisingly handy and you will find things to use them for. I found carrying them in the pocket awkward until I found an old knife leather sheath. I cut the top flap and stuck the knipex in there. Where did you get that swiss army pin on the pouch?
Thanks for sharing!
I really like Knipex, and I have these pliers in an ever growing collection of Knipex pliers. I use all of them quite frequently, but ive never found a need to carry them on my body "just in case" though, like you said its one of those things where its (for me at least) okay to just plan ahead or go get it from a toolbox or car when its needed. If I were to carry something like this in my pocket every day, I would much rather it be a smaller version of the knipex parallell pliers or the knipex twingrip instead of this though. Both of those are imo better at turning nuts and bolts without mangling them, since this one is designed to bite into a smooth pipe.
I think this is a worthwhile purchase regardless though, they are excellent. Pliers is one of those tools where the difference between a well made and a bad one makes so much difference.
I 💯 agree the knipex is a well-made good tool. I am on the fence whether it is an EDC essential. Thanks for your comment!
Big fan of the SAK Cybertool paired with the 125 Cobra. That way you get an inline screwdriver! Been part of my edc for the past 2+ years.
Also I really like to carry the Cobra in a slip as it saves the integrity of the pocket that said 125 usually rides in. All those hardened corners really love ripping holes....
Thanks for sharing! Cybertool is great!
New to your channel. Considering a pair of the Cobra XS as well. Looking forward to see how they work out in the next month for you.🤙🤙
Welcome to the channel! I will definitely post about it early next month! Thanks.
I swap back n forth between these or 4 inch vicegrips.....i almost like the vicegrips more they latch onto the item and you get wire cutters.
Thanks for sharing!
I don't understand why this expensive tool is so praised? I've long been a fan of vise grips/locking pliers, is there a reason to consider this as an alternative?
Even if you have 4 inch vice grips, this is more compact and lighter. The ergonomics on it are excellent and due to it's shape and design you can get an amazing amount of purchase and torque on it. Finally the quality is top notch, it's bombproof.
It’s better on hex bolts and nuts and goes larger than equivalent vice grips.
I love the cobra xs and always have mine on me.
Thanks for your comment!
It is very good idea. I also same thought. we alwasys think one item like multitool.
Swiss army knife fit on me but no plier, so i hesitate to buy it.
buying 2 items and multitool put out away .
So good I got another, one for home and one for urban trips! I pair it with a swiss card. Very compact + a light of course the i3t!
Or another good idea would be with a Super Tinker!
What makes me sad is I can't find any pocket organizer locally not like that viperade or even a micro maxpedition... and ordering sometimes the shipping is higher price than the product!
Thanks for sharing! I can understand the pain when shipping is more than the product!
I was running late for work a few weeks back and got a flat tire, I didn’t even have my Leatherman wave or Knipex not even my SAK Swiss Champ. If I did I would’ve been able to pull out the nail and install the plug which I had needless to say I had to install my spare tire all because of not having my EDC tools!!
That sucks! Sorry to hear that. Bet you always ensure you have something on you now.
Doubt it
I paired mine with I think it is a super Tinker not sure. That and a Fenix light and a small otacle prybar has been my edc for several months now. They go in a hide and drink waist pack.
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
Try replacing your SAK with the Roxxon K2S elite. Good blade steel, great scissors, everything’s locks.
I can’t imagine carrying an SAK again.
Yes I have that and reviewed it too. Great multitool, especially because of the beefy scissors. Thanks!
ive had mine for a week, already added a short with it in shiney new cond - I don't carry it all the time tho
Thanks for sharing!
Where did you get the third-party add-on that holds the bits on your Leatherman PS?
www.ebay.com/itm/233899258058
Here you go!
I carry the larger one for work as an appliance tech that is why I carry this when I’m not working because it’s small and if you ever need it nothing else does the job better certainly I’d rather carry this than a leather man I also pair it with a bantam and a toepeak small ratchet they all fit in a very small wallet pouch I got from temu I can fit a couple credit cards and some money it’s smaller than most wallets
Thanks for sharing!
I got the knipex cobra 5" because it was 5$ cheaper at the tool shop i went to
Nice! Thanks for your comment!
Ive got the knipex cobra 125mm. Much better and comfortable than the smaller version perfect edc Just making a comment.
Great video 👍
Thanks for sharing!
Carried a knipex for over one year and only used it once. Great tool, but not necessary for my EDC.
Thanks for sharing
Yes knipex+victorinox= allwayes❤
the Swiss Army knife and German Knipex pliers are a good marriage💍
Thanks for your comment!
Daily i carry my knipex cobra xs or cobra 125 with my victorinox alox bantam and on my key chain i have the victorinox rambler and a maglite led solitaire flashlight. If i was to go backpacking or camping i would carry a knipex with my victorinox alox farmer x or my victorinox fieldmaster. I have a Leatherman Wave and Juice S2 but i prefer the Knipex/Victorinox combination better
Thanks for sharing!
I still think the Knipex is not needed..pretty useless to me 🤷🏽 cool video!
I will let you know how I feel in a month!
The Knipex pliers (both the 100 & 125) is in my opinion is a perfect item to pair with any SAK. I will always need a knife and a pair of pliers but the pliers on any of the SAKs that have them suck, despite the quality of every other SAK tool. By having a SAK and the Knipex, you now have a fairly inexpensive set of quality tools. Only thing left is to add a light (which also sucks on every SAK that has them).
Thanks for sharing!
I h1ve the 150 the 100 is too small had it in hand and did not make the cut i understand the size value to have it on you but the ease of use is important so it goes in a pouch in my bag but not in my pockets
Thanks for sharing!
Isn’t the flashlight on your cellphone good enough?
The light on a phone is not as good as a decent flashlight plus it uses to much battery if used for prolonged use.
@@Rigz727Valid point.
What if I drop my cellphone in the dark theater?
Hey J.C. 👊🏼
I reviewed the Knipex XS 2/3 months ago - great bit of kit. I use them to replace the pliers on the Victorinox particularly, as I find them more versatile.
I need to do some combo videos like this, when I get the time...
I often rotate the Pioneer X, Climber or Compact with it.
Enjoyable video, thanks for sharing, buddy,
ATB Gus 👍🏼
Thanks for watching and sharing Gus! Looking forward to your combo vids 😁
I have this little Knipex pliers, and several SAK's,, and I much prefer to carry the Leatherman Skeletool, it's much more versatile and only one thing to carry, clipped in your pocket, ,, 👍,,
Thanks for sharing! I do like the Sketetool as well!
Strangely, i used my knipex to hold tacks when i was putting together furniture. I have dexterity issues so i found it helpful. I regularly use them as pliers
Thanks for sharing!
The 5 inch version are so much better. I returned the XS.
Do you EDC the 5" pliers?
@@urbanknifeguyyes, they actually work and don’t feel like a toy.
@@forgetyourlife OK thanks for the reply
I'm sorry, but carrying knipex pliers every day is bizarre.
We do live in a bizarre world.😅
