Truly, the stories about the prophets in the Quran are more amazing and insightful than those from the earlier corrupted scriptures. Sadly, we were deprived of this knowledge before, but Alhamdulillah it is being rediscovered now.

    When I read translation
Really I asked this question to myself
1.How it's possible to lean on a staff?
    2. Hand becoming white _ what is the relevant sign on this?
    Now it makes sense
*He was using this staff because he is disabled.
    * Staff is helping for him in many things and he is depend on staff
That's why Allah asked about his staff
    * As a replacement Allah made his hand to regrow
This is a big sign for even Musa pbuh.

Great insights into the story of Moses, I must congratulate your open mindedness and willingness to challenge recieved knowledge.
The hand turning white was seen as a remarkable sign in those days because, not only Musa, but most people of that time in Egypt were dark-skinned people. The prophet had described Musa as a dark skinned man and Cheikh Anta Diop has proven that the ancient Egyptians were a dark skinned people , similar to the saidi Egyptians, northern Sudanese, Somalis and similar peoples.
The most interesting question is the one Musa is asked i.e what is that in your hand. God obviously knows what it is,and Musa goes to great lengths to explain the mundane uses of his staff. Why did Musa elaborate so much on the uses of a stick, which God knows.
The answer could be in the significance of the staff as a symbol in Egyptian religion and earthly authority. There were different types of staff used by the Pharaoh and the Egyptian priesthood for both religious reasons and as a sign of earthly authority such as the waas, sekhem etc.,and there are scholarly articles on this.
Moses was raised in the Pharaoh's house and was well acquainted with these symbols and and their meaning. He probably carried some kind of Egyptian staff and in this verse God may be chiding him for clinging to symbols of the Egyptian religion and moses replies, almost embarrassedly, and as if defending himself, mentioning all the mundane reasons for carrying a staff and distancing himself from the Egyptian religion and pharaoh.
There could be other explanations of course, but hats of to you for daring to go beyond the conventional explanations we have been fed for ages. It is always beneficial to constructively critique and think beyond recieved "knowledge" and hopefully arrive closer to the "truth".

MachaAllah! Thanks Dr Hany! Truly, this explanation of yours is by far the most beautiful, plausible ,and powerful ever heard! I myself struggled with the commentaries that were given to explain the “the miracle of the hand”. I was never satisfied with any of them to the point where I had to come up with my own intake on that issue which was to say simply that for Moses’ hand to come out white as a miracle, it had to be black originally. Therefore Moses was a black man with a white hand in a land of black people! Interesting take, but not at all powerful as the explanation you came up with! And off course, Allah (SWT) is far from anything lame, deep yes He is!
    Thanks

What an Incredible analysis of the story, I also read somewhere that the ancient Egyptians used to take the hands of their enemies in battle as trophies and in the Quran 20: 71 Pharaoh gets angry at the magicians when they surrender to Musa and threatens them with the cutting of the hands, Also I have found some Israelite hadiths that tries to explain how Musa (As) damaged both his hands and tongue as a baby.
One day-Moses was then in his fourth year-while Pharaoh was playing with him, he took the crown from the king's head, and throwing it on the ground, thrust it away with his foot. The king's suspicion was roused afresh: enraged, he ran to Asia, reproaching her for having persuaded him to let Moses live, and manifested once more a desire to put him to death;* but Asia laughed at him p. 127 for permitting the naughtiness of a child to excite in him such gloomy thoughts.
"Well, then," said Pharaoh, "let us see whether the child has acted thoughtlessly or with reflection? Let a bowl with burning coals and one with coin be brought. If he seize the former, he shall live; but if he stretch out his hand to the latter, he has betrayed himself."
Asia was forced to obey, and her eyes hung in painful suspense on Moses's hand, as if her own life had been at stake. Endowed with manly understanding, Moses was on the point of taking a handful of the shining coin, when Allah, watching over his life, sent an angel, who, against the child's will, directed his hand into the burning coals, and even put one to his mouth. Pharaoh was again reassured, and entreated Asia for forgiveness; but Moses had burned his tongue, and was a stammerer from that day.
Now if this story is correct then Musa (As) would have received 3rd or 4th Degree burns that would have caused scaring in his whole palms and because it happened as a baby his whole hand would have been scared and damaged and maybe even have been dark in discoloration, Allah removed the scarring and his palms would have become white again and showing it to Pharaoh upon meeting him would have been a massive power move by Allah through musa towards pharaoh, Remember that this man had new-born children killed because he dreamed that he will be toppled one day and he went all his life being suspicious and distrusting of everything around him and now his suspicions had become a reality and to top it off he raised this person in front of his eyes all this time, he must have felt foolish and weak, it served as a great warning and a sign that if he does not get his act together his dream would become true and Allah knows best.

    • @MarvelousQuran
      @MarvelousQuran  3 ปีที่แล้ว

The story of the burning coals is nothing but fabrication, created by those same people who corrupted the Torah, and absentmindedly iterated by Muslims without any sense of respect for Quran.
However, I like your very first paragraph
      Regards

    • @lazysaint1173
      @lazysaint1173 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

@@MarvelousQuran I do not deny that there are many fabrications in the old testament but we must respect them because we were told they still contain some truth within and Allah knows best, as for your theory I do not disclaim it and I believe Allah (swt) is able to do all things, but I do have a slight issue with small matter
Musa (as) was Asked by Allah to take his hand and place it under his arm, that would mean that Musa's hand would have been fully attached otherwise Allah would have asked him to place his limb under his arm, Allah does not make mistakes in the way he words things and that gives me an issue with the regrowth theory, therefore Musa had a full hand but it had some kind of harm or deformation that stopped him from fully utilizing it but again Allah knows best. Dr hany we are not reptiles , do you think Musa is an Axolotl? or is your interpretation isn't clear about his hand? is it chopped? maimed?
or is it that his hand were carrying out and doing bad deeds / criminal activities?

you should correct yourself and to your audience that this segment is not based on reality.
i was thinking that musa has an anger problem , he can't convey words very well , he was a gangster , he is trying to balance himself by abstaining from rage and repurpose his hand to purify himself for good and purely for Allah.

In surah Taha verse 27 Nabi Musa asks Allah among other things which is to untie the knot from his tongue. There are some narrations saying that Nabi Musa has a speech impediment due to certain accident when he was young. As such that is why he needs his brother Harun to accompany him and speak on his behalf. Is there any basis or evidence to this claim? If I’m not wrong there is no mention of Nabi Harun speaking on his behalf when they met Firaun. What does it actually means to untie the knot from his tongue? Hopefully you are able to enlighten on this.

Just a thought, I could be wrong. Have you ever taken off a glove whilst your other hand is in use? Most of us put the hand under armpit and pull it off. Perhaps his hand was in a cast, and it came out white, as the skin goes discoloured when covered for a while.

Great. We are at the same page. I try to write down some notes on paper from Quran every night. Moses hand was one of the notes I took last night and tonight I come accross you video on the same. What a coincidence... I finally wrote "what is this?" he can't be afraid of his hand becoming just white! and arrived exactly at the answer you explained. I just think his hand was harmed/disabled either since birth or later by accident or illness.
Just as you said "you ask the question and the answer will come to you". Exactly.

    Jazakallah.
My own understanding of these verses was that his hand became literally white. The reason this would be amazing for someone seeing it is because Musa (AS) was described by the Prophet (SAW) in a hadith as having very dark skin colour.
I do think your explanation is very plausible and is worth thinking about.
Although I would appreciate if you could also explain verse 26 of surah 40 where Allah (SWT) says that pharaoh said "Let me kill Moses and let him call upon his Lord". As this verse clearly shows that pharaoh did indeed want to try to kill Musa (AS).
    Jazakallah for all your efforts

Fir3aoun used language that often indicated different things than its superficial indications. Had he wanted to kill Mussa, he would not have needed permission.
