As someone who’s read the manga, they captured the vibe PERFECTLY. I was scared with the announcement of the anime that they wouldn’t do it Justice, but this just blew me out of the water. The distorted visual effects, the slight noise effect, the realistic backgrounds captured that uneasy nostalgic feel of the original perfectly.
I just really hope they don't erase the love (love? whatever it is, you know) story aspects of it, it would still be good but I feel like that would get rid of some major plotpoints.

This is giving summertime rendering and shiki vibes I love these type of horror movies/series where MC is caught up in horror situation in a remote peaceful island or village cuz its like gives u vibes that ur on summer holidays on remote places but then u realise u get caught up in some dangerous event
'peaceful' is subjective in this case >:) the setting being a remote village is actually one of the driving factors for the psychological horror in hgsn. i would HIGHLY recommend the manga- the anime looks like it will be great as well, but nothing can beat mokumokuren's original design. its a seriously great read
