- Here's the song where Yogi, Boo Boo, Huckleberry Hound and practically every animal character from a Hanna-Babera cartoon were singing about finding a perfect place, free from pollution. It's from Yogi's Ark Lark.

I've watched these cartoons with my mom (she grew up with these, mind you) back when they were on Boomerang, and I absolutely LOVE them ever since! I'm almost 25, and I've never forgotten this song

This song came to me again last night as we were talking about cartoons. It was the first pro environment thing I ever saw in a cartoon. I had already seen the native american crying over litter with real people. I'm 52 also and remembered most of the words to the song...There was a few episodes but died early as a new season cartoon if I remember correctly.

Hanna-Barbera had some kind of mania for making crossovers and I think they infected Warner Bros. with it.

@@LuznoLindo The whole premise of the Perfect Place propaganda was to teach our future generations to willingly participate in clean air laws such as Smog Check our vehicles via emission standards. It’s working except in Los Angeles with the Brown Air. 💊

Yeah they overdid it. If they did it twice then that's fine but not after every stop. Plus it later became the Yogi's Gang theme as well. With different lyrics of course.
It's kinda weird that while the TV movie was an hour long pilot for Yogi's Gang, Hanna Barbera chose to reair the pilot as the 2 part finalie of the series.
I don't get why Scooby Doo was not on the ark. Maybe he didn't want to leave the kids behind.
Probably because this aired on ABC while Scooby was on CBS at the time and they had the broadcast rights to him at this point.
@@stephenholloway6893 Sawtooth (Rufus Ruffcut's beaver) was in the special and Wacky Races was CBS material. Atom Ant, the Hillbilly Bears, Secret Squirrel, and Squiddly Diddly all appeared in the special and they were NBC stars.
@@kylebastian9809 The difference is that all of their series were already canceled so they could be syndicated in reruns. With Scooby he had his 2nd series at the time.

I noticed a lot of Hanna Barbera animal characters were no shows in the special. Besides Scooby (probably because he didn't want to leave Shaggy and the others behind), here are their reasons: Cindy Bear (she was slated to be in the special, but was taken out at the last minute), Mr. Jinks (probably because he heard Pixie and Dixie joined the group, although he returned in Laff a Lympics), Snooper and Blabber (were also slated to be in the special, but were scraped at the last minute), Loopy De Loop (not many people remember the French Canadian wolf), Dino, Baby Puss, and Hoppy (wouldn't leave Fred and Barney), Alfie Gator (knew Yakky and Chopper joined the gang), Fibber Fox (ditto), Astro (wouldn't leave George and the others), Punkin Puss and Mushmouse (refused to put aside their differences to join Yogi's Gang), Ricochet Rabbit and Droop A Long Coyote (Quick Draw and Baba Looey must have beaten them to the punch), Yipee Yapee and Yahooey (wouldn't leave in order to protect the king), Breezly and Sneezly (they knew Alaska was the perfect place for them), Precious Pupp (wouldn't leave Granny), Morocco Mole (Bill and Joe must have forgotten him when they put Secret Squirrel on the trip), Salty from Sinbad Jr. (Mel Blanc was unavailable to voice a character; also a forgotten animal character), Blip (too busy helping Space Ghost and the twins), Igoo, Tundro, Zok, Gloop, and Gleep (all chillin' on Planet Quasar), Kaboobie the Flying Camel (still with the twins), Mightor's pet dinosaur (I don't remember his name), Dino Boy's pet dinosaur (same as Mightor's), Avenger (cannot leave Birdman), Goliath (cannot leave Young Samson; also a forgotten character), Blubber Bear (either Sawtooth beat him or there can't be room for two Wacky Races characters), Muttley (with Dick Dastardly, he has an animousity with all the animal characters), the Cattanooga Cats (probably busy with their tours), Bristle Hound (he should have been there protecting Lambsy), Mildew Wolf (knew Lambsy would join the group), Motormouse and Autocat (same reason as Punkin Puss and Mushmouse), Yankee Doodle Pigeon (probably sneaked in in order to escape Dick Dastardly and was in hiding), Sebastian (refuses to leave Josie and the gang), Dribbles (refuses to leave the Globetrotters), the Hair Bear Bunch (couldn't escape the zoo), and the Funky Phantom's cat and dog (refuses to leave Muggsy and the gang). Anyone else I forgot?

Actually, the song would be more appropriate for the unrestricted capitalist that destroyed the environment for everyone. The characters are leaving whatever area they have destroyed for greener pastures. This Is the song they sing on their way to inhabit a pristine environment, which will soon be polluted and over populated.
Though by the end of the pilot they released that although their former home they originally left wasn't perfect, if they clean it up and do their part and keeping it clean then it cam be the perfect place.
