This is the screwdriver set I used in this video from IFIXIT. amzn.to/3FLMzfZ Let me know if you have any questions. Its a decent enough set, and works on my knives.
Love this video!! 🙏 do you know where I can buy just the spring similar to this one? I’m trying to make a 3D printer Swiss key holder and wanna add they click mechanism 🙏🙏🙏
I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The knife making suppliers online should have springs available. Alternatively you can look up companies that produce purpose made spring steel, order some stock and cut it yourself. Thanks for commenting and I hope to see you around the channel again.
Thanks for the video! My gues was right watching your video. They are great Knives I agee, until you let you friend borrow it and they use it to baton wood and bend the spring mechanism straight causing it to no longer lock on a Gerber 450 e-z-out pocket knife. I really liked that little knife as I could keep it really sharp. I've had it for a few years as a utility knife. I think the outer shell of the knife is glued at the base where the spring is attached inside. I cant get it apart to see if I can repair it. Any suggestions?
I'm glad you found the video helpful! I'm sorry about your knife though. Unfortunately if the handle is glued together, there isn't much recourse for repairs, short of destroying the grip and starting ove. You will likely have to get a new one, or choose a different replacement. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
If nothing was influencing the back lock then yes. But without the spring a bump or something else could knock the back lock out and release the blade.
From Italy: Thanks for this usefull video!
Lockback are great to use and I'm a fan of that kind of folding knife lock.
Lockbacks are classic. There is a reason they are so common.
This is a very good video showing everything I want to know. Thanks for the video!

Nice! Now nobody needs to break knives when they're curious
If they were breaking blades then they definitely need to watch this video...

Hi.. nice video... How do you cut the PIECES of de lock back system? Handmade or laser?
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Often time the locks are cut via a milling machine with the head set to a 5 degree angle.
if the spring got weak or gave out the knife would still lock yes?
If nothing was influencing the back lock then yes. But without the spring a bump or something else could knock the back lock out and release the blade.
How do I get a lock back knife that's stuck open to close?
Funny you show the only back lock knife ive had that failed on me for no detectable reason, even when disassembled
Went most of my life and did not know how this worked...back in the day 99% of all pocketknives were lockback...
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Excellent video.
Lousy music though. 😅
