Two amazing things about you, Paul:
1. You never put politics into it, which makes your videos very inclusive to anyone who wants to learn without getting lectured about what to believe or who to vote for, or being given a message that they're unwelcome for their politics.
2. You don't do cringey supercilious bullshit so many other channels do. You're a straight, to the point, articulate, calm host armed well with facts and demonstrations. You're no operator and you're not trying to teach anyone to be so. You have a great understated sense of humor and don't take yourself too seriously. You also don't lord your experience over people or arguments to pound in that you just must be right.

I'm not just blowing smoke, truly sir your videos have more real, practical information regarding firearms than most other so called experts, and I am a 26 year cop and firearms instructor. Straight up excellent content, solid data. As you know tactical is really just practical. Again thanks for all the information.
Agreed, Paul is wise and doesn't talk about things that he doesn't have experience with. I very much appreciate that he speaks from experience with supporting evidence. Many gun channels can either be a spec fest without thought about practicality or just shooting, shooting, shooting and no analysis. I love when he talked about home defense, and put it in practical terms. He provided a good set of firearm options for realistic scenarios. I will always take to heart his motto that you plan for what is most likely to happen first, the rest comes next. Too often gun channels prep for the end of civilization and zombies, Paul tells you how to handle the things that are likely to happen today.
@@bpurkapi absolutely sir. I had actually considered doing a firearms channel because of all the zombie apocalypse firearms channels. But after finding this one it was like never mind Paul has covered it. Definitely just plain good content.

I've never even held a gun... and yet I love watching these videos. Paul Harrell gives me faith that there really are good guys with guns out there. Keep doing what you're doing good sir, here's to another 200,000!
Bobby White I do it once or twice a year. But fortunately, I get to the range a lot more often than that.
You might wanna' get someone who is good at firearm safety (I feel a good quick 'litmus test' for a 'safe' mindset might be if they know Col. Cooper's 4 rules) to take you out for some .22 plinking.
You might find out that it's really fun.
@h1mb Yeah many European nations are not as horribly stringent on guns as some might think. Just takes some more bureaucracy. Even the UK allows you to own a shotgun for home defense and they're some of the most strict. It is more expensive though, since you are required to own a gun safe.
That was a pretty quick trek to 200.000, I remember the channel having under 100k just at the beginning of 2018. Quality content speaks for itself.

Wasn't your Dad a Police officer??? That is how I understood you? Maybe that's the source of confusion? My Dad was a USAF Air Policeman. He passed a year ago. During his lengthy illness we met one of his health care workers who had served in the Air Force and also in the Navy. So, I can support you there:) Thank you, Paul, for all you do! A minor quibble: when you are standing in front of a bright background ("backlighting"), it is hard to see your face.
Point taken. We checked for that and on my computer it looks fine. I'm discovering that not all computers see it the same way and I'll have to take that into consideration.
Paul, I have been shooting a long time. I am no expert on anything , but I have some experience. You sir are always doing things in a safe and thoughful manner. Not most of the time... ALL of the time. Your respect for safety comes thru in a very direct way.

You also are more than willing to listen to counter arguments and make adjustments to your statements when you learn more information on a topic. You can tell that you and your staff are very diligent in the content of every video and the hours of work that go into even a 6 minute video. I know that there are many people out there, including me, that would love to have an opportunity to meet and learn from you in person.

Not generally a subscriber to gun channels, but I subscribe to here because 1) Quantitative evidence and 2) don't spout off on bullshit political opinions.
I always love the very FACTUAL info provided on the channel vs opinion of other "gun" channels. How the hell do you only have 200k? Really appreciate the actually real life tests provided
I am a loyal watcher and I have never seen anything that would make me think Paul was ever in law enforcement. I mean nothing. I'm well aware that he is a military veteran, a champion shooter, a great, albeit unwilling, William Shatner impersonator and expert on what he does in these videos. Still nothing after watching dozens and dozens of his videos that would lead me to believe he was ever a LEO.
My brother in law...I want to take a moment to honor his as Paul made me think about him, as he has passed. He was in the Air Force for a long time, then became a store manager and then went back to serve in the Army Reserve right as the 2004 Iraq war was starting. He made it through that war, but the crap he had to witness got him on the bottle and that ultimately killed him. I want to thank all service members for all they have sacrificed. And in some of my videos, I am wearing a pair of military boots that he gave me before he passed. I was never in the military, but for those who might have ever wondered, they were his and I do wear them in sort of a memorial kind of thing.

He recorded the video again and took out a part where he reads a quote from the video of the person who said he was a cop for 30 or 40 years. In the previous version he pulled a piece of paper from his pocket to read that quote. He also changed what he said at the end about politics, in the last video I don't recall him talking about firearm ownership I think he just said to educate yourself on the issues and people running. I'm sure there's some other stuff he worded differently too.

Paul, sometimes you talk about magazine maintenance for semi-auto pistols (spring maintenance, not letting your mags stay fully loaded for long periods of time, etc.) and you sometimes use an abbreviation for it (PMC?). Would you please cover that in more detail in a future video, say for Colt 1911's, Browning HiPowers (e.g. the Mark III's), Glocks, SIGs, etc.?

@@AWDfreak So, PMCS = Preventive Maintenance Clean and Service? I don't think any of my mags are designed to be disassembled, i.e. so that the springs could be stretched out. They're all clean, but many have been fully loaded for years.
@@KoshN I was still awfully sleepy when I replied, it's actually "preventive maintenance checks and services". But the concept is still generally the same.
PMCS isn't a term in the military that pertains only to firearms, it pertains to any equipment that's issued out, such as vehicles, night vision goggles, protective masks, etc.

My wife, a person who never made much consideration of firearms until she met me, and I, who is former military, and worked armed for some time as a citizen as well as concealed carry, appreciate that we don’t see your political opinion. You present facts, and as soon as politics get involved facts go out the window no matter what side of extremist one wants to ally with. Thanks for doing good work, and presenting it in such a way that my wife is learning good information when watching, and things I may not have thought of addressing or didn’t know myself some times despite my life around guns, but as a casual user in comparison.

Paul, I just watched your video on mixing ammunition. At about 10 minutes in, you say "I dealt with a criminal once that had a 12 gauge shotgun." That could be where it was inferred that you are or were a police officer (even though you had already mentioned that you know current and former officers and didn't mention anything about being one yourself).
