I found this song and I’m glad I did. Last year I was told by my doctor I have terminal illness and my heart is very weak. I’m only 27 years old. I had already gotten married and had a kid. Just for him to tell me I maybe have got until 40 before my heart gives out. I have to take several medications a day for my heart and blood pressure. So for the last year I’ve had nothing but time to think on it. If I do everything right and take all medications I’m only “guaranteed” another 13 years. A very short time with my wife and daughter before my illness takes me away. I have not told my wife and daughter that I was age capped by my heart doctor, and won’t because why should they have to worry about something they, nor I, can control. I’ll save them the heartbreak news and let nature run it’s course. This song helps me with dealing with this. Unfortunately someday my daughter and wife will only have the memories of me and with me. They will continue to make new memories once I am passed away. I’ve accepted my fate though and continue to live my life to the fullest even though anyday technically could be my last. So for somebody out there struggling who reads this, keep pushing. Your loved ones and friends need you.

I feel like this song can have a lot of different meanings for different people. For some, it's about losing a loved one to a disease or suicide, and for others, it's about being that loved one that is or was close to dying or committing suicide. Personally, I can relate to the later,- I was, and still partially am, going through a really hard time with depression, not being able to get out of my room or out of bed for days at a time, and staying up insanely late despite being so tired. Despite still going through stuff like this, I feel like I'm getting better, and I don't want my loved ones to have to worry about my mental state anymore. As cheesy as it sounds, things can and will get better, you just have to put in a bit of effort, even if it's hard. Anyway, I feel like that's one of the amazing things about music, everyone interprets the meaning differently.

I'm not an emotional person and i dont cry at any other song, movies, etc, but this song is like engineered exactly to hit me that way lol. Beyond the obvious sad lyrics / story of the song, I think the contrast between the pitched up chorus bridge female singer and the staccato deeper voice of powfu adds to the emotional weight of it for some reason.

We were so happy, we were both at the hospital. I was way more sick than him, I always thought he was gonna make it and I wouldn't. I had a kidney problem and he had a heart problem. Turns out I left the hospital and am living a healthy life now, but without him. I still feel like he's with me, I wish I had never lost him. Everytime I listen to this song it makes me cry imagining that's what he was thinking about. I miss you Samuel.

My boyfriend took his life and one of the last things he told me was how much he related to this song. I hadn't really listened to the lyrics until right now and jfc I cried so hard. Honestly this song hits harder now. I’m only a teen but we recently found out I’m pretty ill, not terminal yet but the doctors are taking a long time to even start the process of helping me. I’ve never gotten a chance to have a crush on anyone and even really start my life, and sometimes its a struggle to want to keep trying. But I do. I just hope I’ll be ok.

I found this song and I’m glad I did. Last year I was told by my doctor I have terminal illness and my heart is very weak. I’m only 27 years old. I had already gotten married and had a kid. Just for him to tell me I maybe have got until 40 before my heart gives out. I have to take several medications a day for my heart and blood pressure. So for the last year I’ve had nothing but time to think on it. If I do everything right and take all medications I’m only “guaranteed” another 13 years. A very short time with my wife and daughter before my illness takes me away. I have not told my wife and daughter that I was age capped by my heart doctor, and won’t because why should they have to worry about something they, nor I, can control. I’ll save them the heartbreak news and let nature run it’s course. This song helps me with dealing with this. Unfortunately someday my daughter and wife will only have the memories of me and with me. They will continue to make new memories once I am passed away. I’ve accepted my fate though and continue to live my life to the fullest even though anyday technically could be my last. So for somebody out there struggling who reads this, keep pushing. Your loved ones and friends need you.

I feel like this song can have a lot of different meanings for different people. For some, it's about losing a loved one to a disease or suicide, and for others, it's about being that loved one that is or was close to dying or committing suicide. Personally, I can relate to the later,- I was, and still partially am, going through a really hard time with depression, not being able to get out of my room or out of bed for days at a time, and staying up insanely late despite being so tired. Despite still going through stuff like this, I feel like I'm getting better, and I don't want my loved ones to have to worry about my mental state anymore. As cheesy as it sounds, things can and will get better, you just have to put in a bit of effort, even if it's hard. Anyway, I feel like that's one of the amazing things about music, everyone interprets the meaning differently.
