Watching the video on a certain topic before reading it from step up will help orient you and summarize the key points for you and for some topics they were my main source and I only had to add in a few points to my notes (It’s also free you just have to sign in and the videos are relatively short)
yes the handbook is not really useful if you're about to start your rotation, but it would be really handful if you have covered the basic of all topics and just for quick reference. think of it as a dictionary! people don't read dictionary, they refer it.

thanks dr belal it was quire useful but am confused in something , im studying in russia we study medicine for 6 years currently im 3rd year and i have a subject by the name of Propaedeutics of internal diseases ,, for instance the 1st chapter talks about patient interview + history taking + general inspection of patients + respiratory diseases + ECG and etc....... so i dont know should i start studying on the books u suggested or it is too much for my stage??

It is frustrating to just wait the process to take its flow... "it's a short book, 500 pages".. 😂 I was like wait.. Indeed short, and probably the way it's organized has made reading it and knowin' what's inside really efficient. But there are books that are demanding, need focus and so much effort to keep track with info in paragraphs.. It can get as frustrating as it gets.. So can you please offer your advice on that?
Thanks for your positive feedback As for the speed reading thing, honestly i dont think There's really any helpful advice that i can give, its a straightforward process of reading and summarizing/underlining/ highlighting etc. I'd be lying if i made a video about how to improve reading speed and such while i struggle with my reading just like you to finish 5-10 pages a day. Regarding the "its short, around 500 pages"..haha im sorry, i never meant by this to say "this can be read quickly, reading and remembering 500 is easy"..i meant that compared to other large references this is small and compact and doable to read and learn a large portion of it, and of course you can never find a medical book smaller than 400 pages..so thats what i meant. Also i only finished about two thirds of the book. And plan on rereading it. Some advice i can give is to read and annotate when needed, dont try to learn everything at once and ask how this information can be relevant to patients and your practice. And try to have as much exposure to real life scenarios as possible to retain what you learn And one thing i do that helps me keep my sanity is not to ask "is this coming in the test? Is this not coming?" Because this makes studying even more depressing. So i just ask "is this important for me to know if i see a patient?" Is this a common disease that i may encounter?" I think this is far less depressing Also, try to find the time you are most productive in. For me it is to study after Fajr before going to university..and to revise in the bus.

And yes, even the mere "review" books reach page count not less than 400. I have read a note that when i wanna start reading, that is initiate the studying by starting to read smthn off a book, i should start not anew, rather, complete a chapter that i started the day before, because starting from a new chapter would put my mind in a state of sleepiness or smthn like that. Idky, but thought i'd share this😂. Anyways, real thanks. Lookin' forward till your next videos.🤞🏽
Hi, I think this is my list 1. First, read the table of content, big structure of the chapter, try to make a structure in your own head 2. Then read the book by reading first sentence and last sentence of the paragraph first. After that , read the whole paragraph 3. Take a break every 20-30 minute for around 5 minute each, don't study without a break. Studies show it will be a waste This might not be helpful for you, but it helps for me to some extent
