This is actually the first I hear of this and I consider myself pretty updated on when it comes to AI. Though I'd like to point out that OpenAI has allowed military uses for a long time now, so not new. But this is the first time I hear of Anthropic doing this especially considering that they're supposed to be the safety focused lot that came instead of OpenAI when they went private.
Realistically this was going to happen eventually, that doesn't make it any less jarring. Love that you're on top of this, keep it up man.

"Hopefully, the dystopia isn’t upon us," you said with a slight shrug before ending the video-that was the cherry on top.
I really enjoyed this old-school TH-cam style of content, and I agree with you for the most part. However, I have to play devil’s advocate on this one. Diplomacy often seems to hinge on the fear of retaliation-take nuclear weapons, for example. If one country holds an overwhelming advantage over another, it loses any real incentive to comply with agreements.
On the other hand, when two nations are evenly matched and capable of ensuring mutual destruction, they tend to think twice before initiating conflict. It's a grim reality, and I wish it weren’t this way, but history repeatedly shows us that ethics and international relations rarely go hand in hand.
To be honest, I’m less afraid of AI in weapons than I am of humans themselves. My fear is that we’ll continue to fight over the myths and narratives we’ve created. Let’s hope for the best-there’s no going back now. The 21st century has birthed its own Oppenheimer. All we can do is watch how it unfolds.

they're working with probably all governments not just US. Military defence is not necessarily bad. Unfortunately it's still necessary.

Literally just saw a recommended video on YT that mentioned it. And then looked it up, and sure enough, there are newsletters on it.

Im concerned for Gaza and the West Bank. Autonomous weapons have been used against its innocent population from the beggining of this massacre. Now with Anduril and OpenAi making more of them, smarter and more efficiently... it makes you feel powerless, especially when it's your people.

seems pretty normal to me. AI is already used in most military systems anyway in one way or another. We've been using autonomous systems since the 90's. It will save soldiers lives and lead to more efficient warfare so we can win faster and neutralize threats with ease.
to add on, other countries should also do this, not just the US
