We have Pappa Murphy's here in the Denver area and I've smoked quite a few Pappa Murphy's on the smoker, some on video and many not. You do get a little smokey flavor but most of all the smoker cooks the pizza great and best of all, you don't heat up the house, especially now with all the heat this summer 🙂
Not cooking in the house is the best. we have 100 degree weather right now. I do love the taste it gives when you smoke it.
Ok. Used my 1150 pro for this as well. I'm never using my oven again. By far my favorite way to do pizza. Great vid and walk through there sir!

Here I always thought you had to use a Pizza stone to grill pizza's! As a newbie smoker owner is there an advantage to using a pizza stone?
Don’t really need it. Using a pizza stone you loose on the smoke flavor.
Without anything under a raw dough pizza, it's going to be hard to manage. Dough can sag between the grates. I'd use a stone like he used the paper tray, just to get it firm enough to remove. Maybe do 2 pizzas but try leaving 1 on the stone and scoot the other off. See if you can detect the difference in flavor.
I take it that the pizzas are thawed and not frozen when putting in the smoker.
I thawed mine some but not all the way and turned out perfect for me.
This was a take and bake pizza.
At Papa Murphy's they assemble the pizza like they do sandwiches at Subway. So they aren't even refrigerated, much less frozen.
