And then you see the diference between the styles: Samart is the best nak muay of all time and had all his weapons, Murat was an average savatieur from his time and because of rules he couldn't use the line low kicks (chasse bas, lateral bass and frontal bass) to not say the boots, and still, it was an even fight, and in the end samart won because of luck kick. If the fight continued I'm not sure samart would win
oh come on,look it again, the first round was clearly a won by murat and the second was a drawn, yes the third was for samart, but we don't how it would end
They gave up.. they threw in the towel.. Why else would they do that if they thought that they had this? Btw, Samart fought in 81 / 82'' this was ''93 if I remember.. This was long after samart retired, did boxing, retired, did singing and acting (for 7 years) then came back and beat almost everybody. He never had the stamina - watch any Samart fight, he has a bait style, bait in the opponent that is why he looks open.. to draw the opponent in. Also, Samart was born with smaller lungs and this was the reason he had stamina issues. This is the reason he had such a low-key, low-energy style and it played a massive part after not training for so long. P.S You're giving way too much credit to Murat. Samart was NEVER in danger in this fight, be as bias as you want. They threw in the towel cos he got battered.
Just to educate you. All thais traditional style is to start first round with only 20-30% effort.(Then go 80% in round2 and a 100% at round3-4 and if lead in point the last round thais will only def and retreat in round5)So it very normal to see every thai muaythai fighter lose by point at their first round. :)
Luck kick? All I saw was Samart destroying his defense and shutting down his mobility by catching kicks, doing hand trapping and low kicks. Samart's defense stance is weak? reactions are slow? Now i know you guys are incredibly bias. Samart is very well known for his amazing reflexes, and you can see that from both rounds when he dodges and blocks many of Murat's kicks. Yes, Samart barely has any footwork, but that was the Muay Thai style back then. Thai fighters tend to stay in range rather than to move with explosive movement like Savate or Boxing. That being said, Muay Thai's main defense was in blocking, catching kicks and clinching. You can say that their stance is designed to punish their opponent's attacks through sheer defense alone, but there is much more to it than that.
Their is no unnecessary action or move so everything hits hard.
