I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (October 4), this was the basis for our Sunday School Lesson of the Day. It was entitled "The Spirit Is Not for Sale." The hymn, "Lord, Speak to Us, That We May Speak," written by Frances R. Havergal (1836-1856), is a good hymn to compliment this Scripture, regardless of denomination.

When anyone says "the devils believe" you can write them off as a FALSE PROPHET! The Bible says " That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
John:3:15 don't tell me Simon the sorcerer wasn't saved because the Bible SAYS HE BELIEVED.

Jason you're right bro, in the same chapter John 2:11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the SIGNS through which he revealed his glory; and his disciples BELIEVED in him. meaning the disciples believes in him after the SIGN.

‘Believeth in Him’ with a capital H. Believeth that he was the only begotten son of God. Simon likely did not believe that. As a sorcerer he believe that Jesus had a great power but also, likely, believed in many other divinities. I’m not a Christian, but i do find it ridiculous how you as a Christian would possess the motivation to call other Christians ‘false prophets’. It is that motivation/behavior that is destroying your church. Would you stone Steven?

You missed the whole point. Go back and listen again. Get out your Bible and study it. Do NOT try to tear this good man down.
