1:21 brings me to tears each time. as we hear the trumpets, synths, strings, we watch as Renslayer sits in fear and confusion, as she sees her fate right before her. it's frightening, but moving at the same time. and gosh, the way it just cuts off before we TRULY see her end is insane. it all felt unreal. without Natalie Holt, this show wouldn't be the same, absolutely brilliant.
I think this soundtrack perfectly encapsulates what Loki felt when he finally found his “Glorious Purpose” and finally knew what he had to do to save and protect everyone, accepting his fate but knowing that what he did will give everyone a chance to live
I haven’t caught up with any marvel Loki lore in a long time so I basically forget most of it. Would jumping to the LOKI show be bad / spoiling of anything ? ( I don’t mind slight spoilage )
Loki not only replaced the means of stabilizing time… but also its ideology. If I may, time was being held together and thought of as a stream, fabric, threads that were woven through a loom and would create the very fabric of time. Throughout the show everyone’s been referring the deviations from the “Sacred Timeline” as branches. Loki took the idea of holding all the branches together, and creating what we now see is the Tree of Yggdrasil. Here, branches are free to grow atop this mighty tree with no need to saw off branches. Here, the roots of various timelines pass through the stump of the tree, and grow atop it into the timelines of their own. Now, time is not fabric to be woven into a rope that will eventually fray, time… is now a sturdy tree, to grow for eons untold.
Obviously we're venturing into philosophical discussions so lots of interesting ideas. The problem I see is that Loki's influence (green parts) is limited to the trunk and some roots of the tree, while Kane's influence (purple parts) are spreading high among the branches. Can Loki ever catch up to these, or is that not his plan? Maybe now there's a large part of the universe WITH Kanes and a large part WITHOUT Kanes?
This is by far the most big and well done development of a character in all marvel history, Hiddleston did an extraordinary job for one of my favorite characters of all time, I will miss this series so much.
Thank you for uploading this! This song... When Reinslayer sees Alith approaching (1:33), she sees her fate...the end of her life...the finality...The flourish of trumpets to crescendo and then abruptly cut off (1:45) signifying the end of her mortal life. Very frightening. Brilliant, Natalie Holt. Brilliant.
I agree. Projects like Loki and GotG 3 are great reminders that if the MCU can find its footing again they can return to the heights that they once reached
Hearing this entire score felt reminiscent to the film interstellar, but as soon as that trumpet started playing it changed the whole emotion and felt like an angelic horn was played over an eternal war that has finally met it’s conclusion.
This is such a terrifying and sad chapter in the MCU. Loki was our final semblance of what we had before and now we're left with hopes for what is to come. The ethereal music really reminded me of little big planet and the adventurous atmosphere it provided in my childhood. Our know and home is shifting and fading as we settle into the unknown. Natalie Holt captured that perfectly in this piece.
This is the song that made me cry. I really got attached to the characters. I loved this epic adventure. Loki, you are also my friend, just like the people of the new AVT 💚🇧🇷
the face that loki made at 1:16 pretty much sums up the story for me, tbh. as he's walking while holding the timelines in his hands, its like the weight of the world is weighing on him, and its probably heartbreaking for him in this moment because he knows that life will continue on without him. but nevertheless, he looks up, with a sense of duty on his face, because he was doing it for all of them. it seemed like although he knew he would be alone, he was accepting of it, as he now saw that this was his glorious purpose, but just not the way he expected it would manifest. nevertheless there's that glint of happiness in his eyes at this moment because he finally found out who he was truly meant to be. he was right, he didn't like hurting people. he didn't. and ultimately, in a selfless act, he took his seat on the throne, sacrificing himself, his happiness, and never being able to see his friends or family again, for the sake of saving trillions of people, mortal or not, superhero or not superhero, because ultimately he knew it was the right thing to do.
I love the name of the OST, Purpose is Glorious. Until Loki made his choice to be the one to hold the fray and branching timelines they didn't have a purpose. Just like him, being just a variant that didn't have a purpose to the sacred timeline other than to be pruned. But his journey in both seasons gave him a new outlook that they did have a purpose and decided to gave everyone a chance; by giving a purpose to the never ending branches.
I feel like the song was sampled or definitely just composed by Holt. I don’t want to take anything away from her, but it definitely has the Agape sound to it.
Tears.... Is it just me or does Loki's transformation reflect the lives many of us have... The mess and later the struggle to keep it all together and choosing the right burden of purpose... Sacrificing our desires for the good of others.. Growing up and being responsible ..his desire once was to become a king... Now he is a king but at what cost...the ultimate power of responsibility made him mature and become the man who cares about nothing but peace.. I can't get the right words... But u know what I'm talking about... Or..... Am I alone with this 😐
Starting the Loki series at the start I was like this will be a cool continue to the marvel multiverse but then with the second season it felt deeper and I was sad and happy at the same time
