Stronghold could be an entire different ("new") game if the maps were huge in size, like 10 times. Castles and outpost towers would make more sense, for defence, because one can't use the games borders for protection and one would need to defend ressources with towers and an outher second wall.
Yeah, its one of my all time favs, but the maps are all really too small. A lot of the crusader trail missions are bugged because the AI builds the same castle and locks themselves in against the edge of the map or a cliff or something.
Do a challenge in which you beat all Arab lords with monks only. That would be a real crusade xD Also, how about beating Rat with ladder men/tunnelers only? It will be nice to see those pieces of sh*t put to some actual combat
@@Jefflenious do a series where you try to beat every AI lord while using their own troops and make it look like their caste. Start of with playing as rat vs the rat, then 2, then 3 and if you lost then try to kill the snake as rat so you can "unlock?" His type of castle and troops usage. Make sure you stick to the amount of troops those AI lords use but if you want you can have double or triple amount of the troops they use.
Fire is broken in crusader and swordmen are same as slaves in fire. There is even a historical campaign in which you have to defeat a lot of swordsman using fire
Its the most frustrating thing when you blob your entire army on a spot and think its safe because you are used to needing to click the pitch. Oh no, Wolfie is just waiting to remind you that you cant get that 1 extra square closer to the tower so you can hit it by lighting your entire shield army and everyone under it on fire! 😊
Challenge idea: *Do a hard mission of your choice with only 1 Granary, 1 Armoury, 1 Stockpile, 1 Inn....and 1 hovel?* Maybe the 1 hovel is a bit too much though haha

Yeah they're not actually THE WORST units in general, but they are probably the worst unit against fire damage! Same damage taken as most other units and being slow doesn't help you here at all
It would be such a cool mod if knights could dismount. The tradeoff being that you convert them into a foot soldier and maybe lose the horses for a little while longer if possible. From that point it would be possible to simply rush fire and dismount and kill the lord with T4 units once the terrain to the keep is open. This would be better than the common drudgery of making sure EVERY tower and EVERY fire-capable unit is dead, if you have the funding to just end it.

Can you play as Rat while copying his castles only? You can have unlimited troops unlike the rats limited 40ish troops
