They originally came from Romania (Wallachia). Unfortunately after centuries of killing "vlachs" (Romanians) in those parts, they were put in front of another criminal choice, death or oath of allegiance to Habsburgs and conversion to Catholicism, this is how "vlachs" dont speak their original language, but they never forgot their origins, their folklore, songs and costumes.
