Sanseveria has been moved into the Dracaena genus and most come from arid climates with their succulent type leaves. It is possible to keep them in a tropical setup if you can find that sweet spot. Given too much moisture though and they will melt away. I keep them in my Ackie Monitors arid set up and they do great as long as he doesn’t tear them up
