Because the ConditionID is a unique value and its better to source information from a unique value rather than a field that can have a variation of the same condition. eg misspelt words. The ConditionID is set as a primary key and to auto increment. I find its better to reference a condition from a conditionID than just the condition itself.
You'll be happy to know that when I searched Google for 'libreoffice base collection' this is the first youtube link - and it looked more relevant to what I'm trying to do than the other hits.
Thanks for the video. For the condition table, why do you use 'condition ID' and 'condition'. You could just use 'condition' as the primary key and it would work just as well for the list box.
Really like this video, helped me a lot. But do you know how to make a field with this kind of drop-down list but also the possibility to add a new record to the table the list is related to, preferably by just typing in the field (so having the list but also the option to type in the field and add to the list) ?
Thanks to your Libre Office Base videos, I have redesigned my DB to include a subform and so far is working nicely. One issue i am facing is getting my tab to shift from the main form to the subform. I setup the tab under Tools/Customise/Keyboard to use Shift+F3 to move to the subform. Shift+F4 moves back to the mainform, but it doesn`t work. I even tried the setup in edit mode. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. P.S. tab order in each form works perfectly
@@shanepiper I actually was saving it. I figured it out though lol. I needed to have my pictures located in the same folder as my database. For some reason it doesn't like when I try to link to pictures which are located elsewhere even when I use the full path name of the file.

OMG this great stuff
For some reason every time I exit design mode with my image set, it disappears. Everything is enabled. I just have no clue what's going on.
Before you exit make sure you are saving your work.

Will the image place holder be there if I export in to PDF?
