As far as I know rose is a high maintenance plant, but as you said you don't have much time to take care your plants or sometimes you don't have time to feed them, honestly it's quite unbelievable to see the growth of your plants, to drag down pH i have used elemental sulphur and i am little bit hesitant to repot my plant into new sulphur based soil....i have never tried disprin, i will try and see what happens....thanks and take care...

New gardner please check the water source coming into your house before starting plantation in pots. If water is coming through municipality the. You good to no worries But it's coming from borewell then you will require lots of care and precautions for taking care plants as borewell is hard (Contains lots of salts ) and pH values will be higher.if its the case then buy only hardy plants until you get confidence. I had issue in water. In our society water is coming from borewell and tds is around 650 and pH is around 9-10. In the early days when I was learning gardening and loved English roses. I bought 3 English rose plants and potted in to 14 inch pot. At that time i was not aware about our society water issue. All those roses thrived for 6 months and then died even after taking a lot care of it. I noticed during that period is potting soil and pots were having lots of salts on surface. After that i bought Desi roses and kashmiri roses. I use used and washed tea leaves after drying it. It amends the soil and also lowers the pH of the soil. I also use sometime alum(fitakari 2gm per liter) which also lowers the pH on long duration of time. New
