- I'm a student pilot with 40 hours under my belt, I am about to take my checkride so thought it would be fun to go through my flight bag and explain why I chose each item in the hopes that it helps some of you out.
Hope you enjoy and would love to hear what you think I should add to it next

I like the card idea for a checklist, I was going to make some custom checklists and IFR cheat sheets for my clipboard. The water bottle and flashlight idea are also good. I used a headlamp w/ rechargable batteries for my night flying

Hi, I'm a private pilot and I would like to mention that I did all my training without an ipad, and I still don't have one. I even have friends who didn't buy headstets at all, they just borrowed from the flight school when they went flying. All this is to say that if you are starting to fly, you don't have to buy anything, just spend your money to pay for the flight hours, then you can buy stuff as you progress. In fact, I even think that starting to learn to fly with just a map and a compass is great experience to have in case one day the ipad fails...

I feel like we are opposites, I want to avoid any tech in my flight training I feel like it helps understanding what youre doing lol

Great video, tbf the A20 might not be the best either, they are not as durable as the DC and there are pros and cons even to that. Just wondering, is it super loud without ANR? I hope it's still possible to hear the atc well
I haven’t tried any other ones so I cannot say if its a lot louder but its totally fine they are pretty quite but my CFI always complains I have the volume set too high for his A20s. I think missing ATC calls is more of a student pilot issue than a headset issue but apparently the ANR helps with that.
What kneeboard do you use?? I’m trying to find a good one that fits my iPad too.

I also use the David clark headsets as a student, after probably i pass my checkride ill gift myself the new bose a30s lol
I got the A20s and just updated to A30s last week. I’d say they are 20% better and maybe not worth the upgrade unless you need a second pair for passengers, but its like a 10x improvement to the david clark headset

Would you mind sharing the video settings you use while flying?
1080p 60fps and flat color, gives me the longest recording time. Everything else is default. I’m sure there are better settings but this works just fine for me.
Do you mind sharing your Checklist? Would love to print out a copy for myself. I like how you have it organized. Willing to pay for it as well! Thank you. Also, any update in your career? I noticed you haven't posted in a video but still replying.

@@smash_and_go Thanks! I'm trying to film my videos when I'm flying but having issues. The GoPro is overheating constantly and the audio recording i get from my Sony Recorder is constantly adding random noise which causes delay in the sound. Any luck advice?
