it is done in isolation to restrict intervarietal hybridization because in open pollinated condition our motive is to either do self pollination or cross pollination between 2 plants of same variety to keep next genration true to type. but due to presence of other variety near by there are chances of happening intervarietal hybridization which will form hybrids which are not true to type. that is why we grow them in isolation to keep them away from other varities growing near by. i hope you understand
