I have never thought that I’d be sad when a company is closed but it happened now. You’ve been my always first shop to buy products (pedals, tyres, Allen, Torx keys, googles etc ; you name it). I wonder if the staff will be the same or the CRC channel will be there for us? I love your product reviews.
I bought a beaten down used vitus mythique couple of years ago which seriously needed some TLC. I disassembled it and ordered bearings, headset, brakes rotors, deraileur, tyres, pivot bolts etc from Chain Reaction and it was so easy to get access to parts and very sensibly priced as well and my mythique was brand new after it, plus the customer service on phone and on chat were super helpful to say the least. Now the websites back but its feels like a total strange ghost town in there. Shame to see such a business go down.
God speed to all at Chainreaction, Nukeproof and Vitus. It's really sad to see such an awesome group of enthusiasts go away. I was hoping Chainreaction was going to be able to restructure and recover. 😢
Thank you guys for beeing my first supplier back in 2009 for my bike parts and bike apparel/protections, without you guys i'd never progress in my sport. 💟 love from Italy
Thanks for being such a big part of our sport especially in the Enduro it was always so awesome seeing Sam Hill winning those years and in general you always supported the racing. Also on our channel you were kind enough to support an episode with Elliott Heap and everyone involved were great to work with. Big shout out to Pagey for being a good dude and i hope everyone finds something good to work on in the future.
I stopped buying from Chain Reaction when they dumbed down their website a couple of years ago. I spent thousands there since '99. I went with Tredz or Tweeks after that. Now, though, it's LBC every time.
Can't believe it's happening. Vitus was my first trail hardtail, and the bike that brought me back into MTB after 10 years without it. CRC's client service was always the best. It has always been the go-to place for all the dudes who wanted to get their first proper bike, which would introduce them to the MTB world. Thank you for your work; you will always be the best shop for us. F
You guys were there in the beginning of my bike journey and got me kitted out when I had no money and you had the best deals. Really sorry to see how it ended. We'll see you on the trails. Love from Canada
Thanks for getting me back on the trail all those times over the years. From shipping a new wheel when 15mm hubs were exotic in Australia to brake pads when I didn’t want to pay the bike shop tax. Changed the industry and we will miss you.
Late 90's started using CRC, way before cycling became a thing :) Thanks CRC, used to love those parcels that arrived at my work all those years ago (I was the only cyclist out of 300 staff.... in London....) Good to luck to all of you.
My first mountain bike was from CRC, a Vitus Rapide. Would never have gotten into the sport if I hadn't fallen in love with that bike. Thanks for the memories.
thank you chain reaction cycles. i don't know how many components i've bought off you. whenever i see my Ti hardtail, i'll know every component is from CRC. forever in my heart! best of luck to the boys and girls from CRC.
So sad to see Chain Reaction go. I remember my first proper MTB component buy from the Ballyclare shop in the early 90s, a pair of m-system brake blocks, and how the shop was a treasure trove of all the amazing components you read about in the magazines. It was great to watch their journey from that little shop, through online and beyond but how they always supported the local cycle scene. A sad day to see them go 😢
Absolutely gutted, cycling has kept me going through the tough times, and chain reaction has always been the first place i would go to, it just goes hand in hand, I am still hoping for a miracle to come out of somewhere to keep this company going.
Thankyou for the amazing deals and money you saved me along the way to spend on more cycling adventures. All the best to everyone at Chain Reaction and all the suppliers etc that made it work.
So sad to see you go my favorite bike is one i custom built with parts and the frame from you guys it is my dream bike and will always remember CRC through it
I am really thankful to CRC and Vitus (not least for the fantastically fun hardtail I got from them). You've made cycling (and bike maintenance) affordable and doable. Really sorry to hear about the job losses. We'll miss you.
Mike proof mega 290 factory from 2018 was the best bike I have ever had. Still holds a KOM in the Alps and loads in the Lakes. Hopefully there is a strong comeback.
This is so sad. I used to put together wish lists of parts after spending hours on chain reaction and wiggle when i was at school. Years later they have been my go to. Nukeproof and Vitus are solid brands and I hate to think what Mike Ashley is going to do to these brands to milk them for pure profit rather than focus on value. Now we're left with the likes of Halfords and Evans cycles
Thank you for fueling my hobbie and love for the sport and for all your videos on bikes and riding, my first Mtb was from chain reaction❤ from the USA🇺🇸
Thanks guys. You've never disappointed me and helped out when necessary. You even pushed my girl into biking so I dont have the freedom of riding alone anymore 🙂. Hope you find a good place to continue the ride
Such sad news :( CRC have kept my bikes running for many many years, they have been a staple part of the UK cycling industry and i'm so gutted this is happening. All my best and much love to all the staff at CRC as well as the team riders.
It’s just sad what happened there, but CRC killed a lot of Local bike shops on the way up when they couldn’t compete.with their pricing and all the time they weren’t making money they just had the turn over to refinance until it went boom, don’t forget that.
Exactly! Capitalism eats capitalism. I liked CRC (and Wiggle even more) way back when but they got too big for their boots. Sad for the staff. Couldn't give two hoots about the companies.
CRC Was all I would buy from in the 90's and up to the 2010's Such a shame to see you go, wishing you all well and hope to see the name pop up again from a shed in the future.
sad times, never thought i would see the end of CRC :( always got my parts and some bikes from there. got hold of a scout when all this kicked off, hoping to keep it for years.
I’ve just started my MTB journey with a Nukeproof scout, and we’re going to go everywhere.I hope there’s a future for the coolest brand in mountain biking 🤟
Thanks to the Chain Reaction for being the 1 stop shop for my riding journey on and off the road. Cheers to the CR team who have consistently dispatched the correct components swiftly and accurately to get me pedalling again. Not only is the distribution team to be praised but the in-house brands (DHB, Lifeline ect) offering serious quality at realistic price levels, with the option to enter cheap and progress to a damn near professional level for much less than the competitors, this has been pivitol for me to enter the sport and stay interested when times are tight. Let's not forget Nukeproof- what a shame. This is like tethering a firework to the ground with a short rope so it never gets to truly soar, instead just falls to the floor with a bang. So much potential, especially with the absolute machines recently developed with SRAM integrated powertrain. Well, what else can I say... If any of the CR team are reading, then thanks for being the enabler for me to consistently empty my bank account over the years 😂 sorry it clearly wasn't enough! But all the best!..Hope you all get re-allocated because I'm looking forward to getting a massive mug when I buy a bike from Sports direct! 💪👍
😢 I still hope you get saved, I was looking forward to build my future bikes from you, hoping change "was" to "still am" for if can survive Also found funny on your site says people just say chain reaction or CRC, to let you know I always say chain reaction cycles and when I think of bike parts you are always first place I think to go ❤️
Gutted guys, mostly for everyone behind the scenes who over the years have been amazing to work with. I've made good friends through CRC, I wish you all the best.
If memory serves, my first purchases, 25+ years ago, were selected from the two pale blue, double page spread adverts in MBUK, tiny typeface to fit it all in. Item:Price - that was about it. Bought so many bits and pieces from you over the years. So sad it all ended like this.
Sad day for; I remember trawling through the double page ads in magazines looking for parts. The fact they’d they’d invariably turn up the next day was the icing on the cake. They also helped me out big time a few years ago. I’d ordered some Manitou Mattoc’s which came without the IRT and the chaps at CRC / Hotlines were trying to sort it. Unfortunately by the time they did, some scumbags broke into my garage and stole all of my bikes and when I told the chap in Customer Services who had phone me to tell me that they that the IRT for me forks we spoke to his manager and they offered my an extra 10% off anything I ordered when replacing my bikes. They didn’t have to, but it was a nice gesture.
Despite becoming a rival to CRC (all be it a small one) I have used CRC for decades. I was also Hotlines UK B2B customer. You WILL be missed, even though you were a thorn in my side trying to keep with your Parent companies prices 😢
When I started mountain biking it was through Chain Reaction that I found all the goodies that made me love the sport. You've cist me a fortune over the years you b******* but I lived you dearly and will miss you terribly. Hope everyone at CRC find a good job. All the best!😢😢
Thanks for the epic ride it's been a blast, thanks for the parts, the bikes the online argos book of bike stuff 😊 much love crc you will be sorely missed 😢
I just don’t understand how this has ended up happening. It’s so sad. I remember seeing adverts in mbuk magazines in my teenage biking days and you were the first shop I looked at when I returned to MTB a few years ago too. Good luck to all staff involved in all areas. 🍻
With the pricing im not surprised, watched the sales and unless u want a small or 2xl even now a medium nukeproof different site has 20% discount on a warrantyless item 😂
What a tragedy... Amazing that what looks like a great business from the outside can fail. Even with the amount of money I've thrown their way over many years! You'll be sadly missed guys. All the best.
My first full suspension bike. Responsible for the most progress in my MTB journey by far. RIP to these amazing brands and everything they accomplished. Somebody needs to rebirth Nukeproof. Eventually.
Shame that the founders ever merged with Wiggle then subsequently sold out to Signa Sports United who destroyed the company. It was a fantastic company with excellent customer service. I have spent £1,000s with them over the years, including 3 new Mountain Bikes. Gutted for all the staff who have lost their jobs.
Sad news... CRC is one of earliest and most beloved mtb shops, no doubds. My first good wheels, fork and brakes were from CRC. Customer support was good and helped me couple of times. Also those high5 'all in one' gel boxes were great buy. There were so many group orders with friends to save on shipping :D Sadly something went wrong several years ago... You will be missed. Come back maybe?
This one hurts. While I've only made a handful of purchases through CRC (I wasn't aware of them till about 2018) they had great service. It sucks seeing people lose jobs based on a hobby/lifestyle you love. I wish everyone the best.
Genuinely gutted to see the CRC brands and ethos go, but mostly sad for the passionate people that were those brands. Quality stuff at sensible prices will be hard to find now.
Gutted for all the staff including the Nukeproof and Vitus guys and girls.
Don't forget Ragley, that's actually the best one
Nukeproof is coming back!
That's something I'd definitely like to see.
Thank you CR for being part of my cycling journey.
I have never thought that I’d be sad when a company is closed but it happened now. You’ve been my always first shop to buy products (pedals, tyres, Allen, Torx keys, googles etc ; you name it). I’ve been using CRC since the late 90s. Always had great service. Sorry to hear about the huge job losses. Stay safe guys. Thanks for everything.
I stopped buying from Chain Reaction when they dumbed down their website a couple of years ago. I spent thousands there since '99. I went with Tredz or Tweeks after that. Now, though, it's LBC every time.
Chain reaction was the best, and thanks my sons loved their bikes from you guys 😢🎉

Thank you for your services!
Thanks for keeping our family riding, you've helped bring so many happy memories.
Sad times. My first cycling purchase was from CRC about 10 years ago. You will be missed.

Thanks for the stuff over the years.
Gutted for the business and its staff. Thanks for being part of my cycling journey

Thank you, CR, from Germany... truly the end of an era. All the best for the employees!
Thanks to all and wishing you all the best wherever the future takes you. Will miss your videos on here.
Thanks CRC! Have been ordering with you since 2011, wish all your staff the best for the future!
Loved getting my parcels from cr
Thank you for keeping me riding.
oh yeah, i loved receiving a parcel from CRC.
Absolutely gutted, cycling has kept me going through the tough times, and chain reaction has always been the first place i would go to, it just goes hand in hand, I am still hoping for a miracle to come out of somewhere to keep this company going.

How the hell am i going to find the bolts i need for my vitus now!...sad day.....mike Ashley...oh no.

I wish it didn't have to end like this. Gonna miss you guys, and especially Nukeproof
You will be missed guys. Been buying from you and Wiggle since 2005 or earlier.
Good luck to everyone in the team with whatever comes next.

Gonna be sad not having any substantial bikes from vitus they’re absolutely amazing, it’s gonna be annoying with buying new parts aswell 😢
Thank you CR - its been a blast. So sorry to see you go.
CRC Was all I would buy from in the 90's and up to the 2010's
Such a shame to see you go, wishing you all well and hope to see the name pop up again from a shed in the future.
Gonna miss Chain Reaction and the annual Megavalanche events :(
sad times, never thought i would see the end of CRC :( always got my parts and some bikes from there. got hold of a scout when all this kicked off, hoping to keep it for years.
Couldn’t have done without you.❤️😢😢😢❤️❤️❤️
Thank you CRC! I hope you guys will find all job again very soon. So sad.
Thanks for all the sweet deals over the years!
Thanks chain reaction for keeping me moving you will be in every mountain biker heart, see you on the trails 😭

Genuinely gutted CRC is going. As an Ulsterman it’s doubly sad as it was born and raised in Northern Ireland 😢

Just saw the Nukeproof van roll in to Sedona today. Did these employees / riders just find out? Gutted for everyone there, really good people.
Always great service right to the end
Last good bike shop in Belfast is gone :(
I'm a roadie and I loved shopping in the store
Thanks for the epic ride it's been a blast, thanks for the parts, the bikes the online argos book of bike stuff 😊
much love crc you will be sorely missed 😢
I remember going into the old warehouse in dough years before there was a shop there. U just walked around the warehouse yourself. Sad times
I just don’t understand how this has ended up happening. It’s so sad.
I remember seeing adverts in mbuk magazines in my teenage biking days and you were the first shop I looked at when I returned to MTB a few years ago too.
Good luck to all staff involved in all areas. 🍻
End of an era. Wishing all staff and everyone affected by this the very best for the future. I'm absolutely gutted.😢
Good luck to you all wherever you land.
Thank you for everything from 96 till today! So sorry for all involved, best wishes to all!
So long, and thanks for all the fish...
With the pricing im not surprised, watched the sales and unless u want a small or 2xl even now a medium nukeproof different site has 20% discount on a warrantyless item 😂

Absolutely gutted for all involved. Would obsessively examine the CRC ad's in MBUK as a kid, and bought plenty of bits from there, you'll be missed.
As a customer for 20 years this hurts! What is happening to our bike industry.
genuinely upset to see you shut down, your store was THE place for bikes. see you on the trails
Thank you CRC!
My first full suspension bike. Responsible for the most progress in my MTB journey by far. RIP to these amazing brands and everything they accomplished. Somebody needs to rebirth Nukeproof. Eventually.
So now the best hardtail brands are gone!? Ffs man.
Such a shame bought pads off stuff over the years hope you guys can come back 👍🏻👍🏻
Shame that the founders ever merged with Wiggle then subsequently sold out to Signa Sports United who destroyed the company. It was a fantastic company with excellent customer service. So sad to see yinz go! 😢Along with ☢️ I will always cherish my ☢️ God Speed 🙏🏼
All the best to the staff at CRC, sad news it's all being shut down.
Maybe in time some of the brands can be reborn such as Nukeproof etc.
A very sad time, thanks and farewell CRC😪
Thanks for everything! I will miss you.
Just started biking so hardly got to know you, shame you weren't picked up by the same group which just bought Wiggle!
Cheers!
Thank you CRC, that was nice time.
Thanks CRC for everything.
Genuinely gutted to see the CRC brands and ethos go, but mostly sad for the passionate people that were those brands. Quality stuff at sensible prices will be hard to find now.
Built me first full sus from crc parts. Sad to see it go down like this
