That 5-1 game is simply riveting, big brain plays all around, hopefully we see a clash between such excellent players again in the future

The real misplay was probably playing arena on that state of mind. He was either too salty or too tired.

I usually watch these long video while doing some daily in world of warcraft. I'm a horde player so I'm mainly in Dazar'Alar/Orgrimmar, but when I hear the soundtrack in your video I always get the weird feeling that something isn't quite right. Today I just realised that most soundtrack in your videos are from Stormwind, the forest of elwynn and stuff around the Alliance's home city.

In the final game you couldnt afford to skip turns because your turns were suboptimal. You can't say your deck was too heavy when you chose to save cards instead of playing on curve
primordial studies is surprisingly good in arena in particular because of how often you hit astromancer solarian and steward of scrolls which are both great value cards
man i keep getting arenas with no aoe and bad stated minions, i had a mage run with literally no aoe offered and the single removal i had was a fireball, no twin tyrants, nothing, went 2-3 by miracle, then i had a druid that seemed promising but i kept drawing the same 6 late game cards i had every game, all my deck was tempo and i kept getting the end game, somehow won a game and ended up 1-3, gold well spent, glad i could help sone people go higher lol

I know this deck was passive and Trump is a value maniac, but he missed on tempo on several occasions that led to him losing to mage three times. Sometimes you gotta play vanilla minions just to buy time

Arenatracker, it gets lightforge and hearth arena in the free version and it's 3 bucks a month to get hsreplay winrate stats to display as well.
You can look the hs arena wr manually tho

I got to legend in ladder, but I'm still a sub-3 win guy in Arena. I watch the videos and use the HearthArena addon stuff. I've been spending all my gold to play arena, and I'm not breaking even for my gold cost. I look at the curve, and I pick the highest value cards. I also try to consider swing mechanics like board clears and hard removals. What am I missing?
You might be favoring value a bit too much. I know that high win decks have a lot of value but you still need the tempo in the early game (and often in your lower win games) to get to that point. Make sure you are playing your cards early, even if it only feels ok to play them. If you're losing games with 8 cards left in your hand, then you didn't consider tempo enough. You have to be comfortable with letting your hand size get lower than your opponents, especially if your deck is value based. Your top decks should get you the value back, and value means nothing if your health is 0.

@@igor953 Not really disagreeing, but competitive ranked is boring/stressing on any competitive card game. It's always people netdecking and using the same 'perfect' decks nonstop.
People like me play it for rewards. 4 packs a month on easy mode is worth it. There are also those who never reached legend for the first time and want to do it for brags/achievement. I did it once with Handlock long time ago and the second was for the free legendary bonus (got Millhouse lol). Then after I get rank 10-5 I just go and play bad/meme decks at wild low ranks.
Been playing since beta and wild low ranks never gets old. Just don't give a damn if you lose and try to use your creativity.

feels bad when you only lose to mage
He threw that game against fire mage Jaina so badly, when he realized from the deck tracker that the opponents hand was basically worthless he should have started pressuring.
Instead he flustered for 3-4 turns over a secret basically giving the opponent a zero mana sprint, when he lost the opponent also missed lethal and could have used the conjurers calling sooner to win.
So Trump bumbled his way to a loss against an inferior opponent...
