Love live albums. Great rundown. Thanks for sharing your first 10 favourites!
Great stuff Mike! That Santana sounds interesting, so does Hot Tuna. I'd definitely have to throw The Last Waltz, Before the Flood, The Mike and Micky Show to mine. Cheers.
That Gary Numan live set is great. It is one of the records that has disappeared in s couple of moves. J Geils Band were one of the opening bands when I saw the Stones in 1980. I’ve never seen Real Live Wires. This RSD has a great live Talking Heads album.
Hey Richie! I hear great things about that talking heads RSD release. I think im going to have to pass 😢
While I do own a few live albums, I tend not to gravitate to them and like you, rarely seem to play them. That said, I was introduced to the Bill Withers Live album approx. 20-25 years ago and it remains a favorite that I know well and do get in the mood to play. I think my favorite track is "I Can't Write Left Handed". Cheers!
J Geils put on great shows, they also were among my first concerts while I was still in high school. That Hot Tuna live album is excellent.
The ones that have meant the most to me, especially when i was much youger were Dylans Hard Rain, Kiss Alive, Mott the Hoople Live and of course Judy Garland at Carnegie Hall.
J Geils is my favorite small venue band ever. The good ol days....
Subscribed for part 2. (Waiting for Columbus?)
