You have to understand one thing about Jennifer Holliday is that she is an emotional singer. She's not going to sing nothing that she can't feel. So what You see & hear from her is raw true emotion. She never fakes it. Even back to her DreamGirls days, her raw true emotions is what people wanted to hear from her. You may call it "carrying on", We call it "the truth".
Had the pleasure to see her live in Philadelphia and even got to meet her... THE most amazing performance I have ever seen and one of the most gracious people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. It was a turning point in my life.
She takes you on a spiritual/ musical journey! Praise God!!
Come on Jennifer, tell the truth. Sing your song. Through the storm and rain, you yet held on. His eye is on the sparrow and yes He is watching you. Praise God for you. Your Heavenly gift is cherished. Keep on singing and praising His name.
I couldn't been just sitting there.I would be running all around that church under the holy spirit...she sing like that BECAUSE as she said.. let the redeem say so.. and its her witness of what GOD is and has done for her.. plus if I'm not mistaken she said she was under a illness..and god brought her thru..

First time I seen and heard Jennifer was when she was in YOUR ARMS ARE TO SHORT TO BOX WITH GOD..What a voice!!..My thing is why is she not a SUPER STAR???

We love you Jennifer! God is watching over you. Oftentimes, God has other assignments for his chosen few ! Don't worry about the finances! You don't need much when you're in the fields of God. Forget the material world. Just listen for your instructions, which might seem unreasonable--just follow those instruments anyway!

My God what feeling ang power in that voice.
I don't know why, but when I see her gift I can't help but believe someone had a grand design and that someone must be God. Wow, what a gift to the earth. I keep getting tears in my eyes & they cannot keep dry when I hear her expression and I love the mouth going every which way it feels liberating to see someone sing so differently and so freely.

All I got to say is "Wheeeeew!!!" Mrs/ Holiday, I thank God for you. I was blessed by God to hear you live, up close, and in person when you came to our church years ago. And I'll never forget how gracious and hunble you were to not only listen to me go on about how I LOVE the way you sing, but you also took time to take a picture w/ me (I still have it :)). I'm sooooo glad that God really does watch over us.... Amen!

I have met her several times, and seen her perform. she as always gotten the biggest applause's, and standing ovations, and after it all she makes it seem like she is just grateful to have sung for you. No ego, or chip on her shoulder like (and I used this term loosly) "singers" today.

Look for her 1987 performance on here, when she was really big. 8 minutes. Watch it if you really want to see the power of Jennifer Holliday. I love Lauryn's version too, but they are different styles. Seriously check out the 1987 one.
umm she did and does make millions: she sings gospel, r/b and some blues. She is quite a successful person and artist not filled with the controversy of those in the media like spears, rihanna, bieber, etc.
