For a long time I thought the songbook was wrong. However, after watching Carlos Santana playing live I realized it was right. Anybody who plays guitar will assume the notes of the main riff should be played using an extended scale, moving up and down from the 7th to the 15th fret. However the awkward hand placement, between the 12 and the 15 frets, makes me notice Carlos avoids playing the 1st string and and opts for the warmer sound of the 2d, 3D, 4th and 5th strings.

Very nice playing The sg 2000 was on my wish list for years and a few months ago i got one in immaculate condition! Now,next to my custom shop strats its my favourite player!
Same here...... all my life wishing for one.... 2 years ago I was in Italy on a business trip and I went to this store in Verona...they had 3 of them !! (A 1000, a 2000 and a 3000 !!). My jaw dropped to the floor..... one week later I had the 2000 home. Yes it's a keeper !! Changed the pickups though. Didn't like the stock ones and put Duncans on it.
You play fantastic. Great chops. Can it be that you tweaked your compressor a little strong on the attack? It’s pumping a bit but that’s maybe a matter of taste.
@@MalcaratMartinez Oh! I live in Rome.....so...did you change the pick ups or they are the original as bought? I'm going to purchase a reissue 2010 but I would like to know the main differences between the reissue and the first models ..Do you know ?
Anyway I know that it is difficult to play the SG standing up due to its weight (4,2 Kg)....even if a PRS Santana is 5 Kg !!! And Carlos changed the SG for the PRS.... mah...

No, it's a 2000.... I changed the pickups.
