It's really disappointing about Josh. I watched his show when he first started out and I felt like he originally at least attempted to be pretty neutral back then and had some good opinions I generally agreed with. And then as time when on he just became more and more of an SEC shill to the point where he's unwatchable now for anyone who's a fan of a non-SEC team. Now his hatred for northern teams is so palpable and he just repeats the same tired propaganda that ESPN does. And you're right Doug, the most annoying thing about it is that he pretends to be neutral. He'll insist he is until the cows come home but its so clear he's not. And those guys at College Football Nerds do the same exact schtick, too. Anyway, really enjoy your guys' show and silliness. Always brings a smile to my face and of course it's refreshing to hear cfb takes from someone not on the SEC payroll.
Ironically the roots of today’s SEC mindset was largely birthed by a northern son, Urban Meyer with his successful lobbying for Florida’s place in the 2007 Championship Game against the Buckeyes. The embarrassing loss in that game served as proof of the “SEC mindset.” The subsequent Saban dominance at Alabama, absent the glorious 2014 win by the Bucks, allowed it to metastasize. The role of ESPN relationships, interests, and unmatched platform didn’t hurt either. You are so right about the new landscape in college football. Xichigan’s championship last year should have been a sign for the SEC heads but they continue to live in the past. Long live Kings of the North! ⚔️
Yes the 2007 Florida blowout was what began the SEC narrative. I remember Pete Carroll at USC saying something to the effect of ‘yea that’s what a lot of us were thinking’ in light of the blowout. Saban’s dominance solidified it but it has to be said there was more to it than narrative. LSU’s easy win over Ohio State in the Natty the following year plus Auburn winning it all really spread the love around. Couple that with LSU’s dominating season in 2019 and the SEC has a lot of hardware to show off.
So I just watch an ESPN recap of college football and after going through all the SEC losses and saying it's going to give the playoff committee a headache .. they literally said leave the top 25 the same. That will all the losses in the top 25 today it sort of evens out and to just leave it the same. An SEC bias miracle.
I took Ohio State giving 10.5 points and the over of 52. When Treveyon slid at the one, I came out of my skin. When Will Howard tried to score the first time and didn't, I figured they'd just kneel on the ball and take the win. Then he scored and I covered. It was only a $5 bet, and I only won $13, but I won.
I get that Pate makes a good target for KotN, but he spent a good amount of time on his upset episode talking about how Minnesota should be looked at as a “2 loss” quality team by PSU and an upset was likely.
We are....Penn State and beat Maryland next weekend. Hopefully, Tennessee loses to Vanderbilt and Texas A&M beats Texas next weekend. I think Penn State can get a home playoff game against Miami (FL), SMU, Indiana, Tennessee, Georgia, and Arizona State as possible matchups. Tony Pettitti and the Big 10 need to force Sankey/SEC go to 9 or 10 conference games!
I hate the living in the past argument. The past is what we have to judge by. We can’t see the future and the best indicator of future performance is past performance.
What makes this show great. Doug is freaking out of his mind and you can tell Bill knows it and just goes with it.
You guys are the best minds (and personalities) in college football. Northern football by a billion
I would not be shocked one bit if Doug eats spaghetti with maple syrup every morning
😂
Doug looks like the real life Elf on the shelf! 😂😂😂
He does! 😂
Doug going on a rant is must see tv. Very well spoken mate
Just another incredible episode of the show. Once Doug gets rolling, there's no stopping him
I put this episode on and put my phone down to do some work. The reaction I had when I picked my phone up and saw Doug was an absolute all timer 😂😂😆
LMAO @ Doug. 25:33 “The SEC did some self-shoving.” 🤦🏾♂😂😂
My gosh Doug. BRAVO SIR BRAVO

University of Maine scored more points on OK than Bama did
SEC - "It just Maines More"
Your golf analogy was spot on.

Freaking ❤this podcast 😂
Pate is an SEC shill
"BYU just was silly" said the old dude in an elf costume. Lovin' it!

SEC--It Just Means More
More cramming it!

Go Bucks!

Pate’s exposed himself as an absolute homer. He’s Paul finebaum in waiting. And he’s smarmier than an ascot
Buck defense took their foot off the gas last drive that's why they scored
